Darlington: Pouncey with Kidney Issues...Might be Out Today

So VERY likely if this or the next front office is smart enough. We should be bringing at the minimum at least 4 new starters at the OL position between the draft and FA? Thats crazy!

All of us (me included) that cried cornfed will be really happy when we are the first team in history to select OL with our first 4 picks

Kidney issues? Is this the Shadow of Hernandez trying to take Pouncey out?

Can we just sit Tany and direct snap to the RBs? 60% of the Oline is gone. We would stand a better chance playing Russian Roulette.

Pouncey's sickness keeps him from Ted Wells? Oliver Stone theory.

Looks like its college football the rest of the year.

yeah. this kind

It's safe to say that next year we need to find 2 starting guards and 2 starting tackles. Maybe even a starting center depending on what happens with Pouncey. This isn't even to mention depth that we need for the o-line. We have NEVER had such a train wreck for an o-line in the history of the Dolphins. Thank Ireland for that.

We are going to be drafting OL for 3 years, lol.

Almost ironic how the theme of the off season was "good teams don't need elite left tackles", "don't waste money and draft picks on more offensive lineman" and my favorite "no more confeds". Now we get to see how important the offensive line is.

I agree with you 100%. Only the "ball watchers" on this site (and stupid "ball watcher" media types like Dave Hyde) thought that offensive linemen where not important. In the mind of a "ball watcher" all a team needs is weapons and it will win......stupid logic...IMHO. Football 101, EVERYTHING starts and ends in the trenches period. If your offensive linemen sucks --you are doomed, if your defensive line sucks --you are doomed. The Phinz offensive linemen sucks hot stinky garbage....and we are DOOMED. If Pouncey can not play the Phinz have little to NO chance to win today period.

The Phinz first 2 picks in next years draft MUST be on the OL period. All this crap about not drafting corn fed in the first is CRAP. The Phinz need new players on the OL ASAP, everyone except the center is CRAP and need to be replaced NOW. The Phinz can not win with their current OL since the Phinz OL plays like hot sinky GARBAGE :-(

To those that understand the game, it wasn't as much ironic as it was predictable. Ireland deemed our line good enough, some football "expert" from Appalachia started posting about how the importance of offensive linemen is over-rated, the cool kids started using the word "cornfed," and half the board forgot everything they ever learned about football. Back in August and September, posts pointing out the lack of o-line talent, questioning JMartin's ability to play left tackle, speculating on whether letting JLong go was a good idea... all of these discussions and inquiries were met with scorn and derision. In the end, it's apparent that those championing the "o-line talent is irrelevant" line knew very little about football, and those who supported that line and mocked posters who challenged it knew even less.

But you know what? None of it matters. When August 2014 rolls around, those same people are going to be telling us that we're the best team in the AFC East and we're going to beat the Pats twice and we're all just imagining any shortcomings this team may have and Jeff Ireland had an awesome draft and signed the awesomest (yes, I know it's not a word) free agents, and when some of us try to have a reality-based conversation, they'll mock us again and tell us the game has changed and we know nothing.

Right because when we drafted a tackle with the first overall pick and spent a truckload of money on the likes of Grove and Smiley they didn't end up on IR too! Tell Pouncey to lay off the booze and he won't have Kidney Infections and Gallstones!

This is quite possibly the most uninformed post you've ever made. And that's saying a lot.

Let me do a quick search of your post history to see if you predicted all of the things that went down this season with the OL. Nevermind, don't need to, neither you nor anybody else did. I'm willing to bet you liked the Martin pick. Probably posted something about him being the #1 OT coming out.

I also don't remember anybody saying we don't need depth at OL. Drafting cornfed in the 1st round wouldn't have changed anything that has happened. You don't need ELITE LTs. That doesn't mean you need poor ones with mental issues either. You do understand that there is a middle ground, right? If we signed McKinnie at the beginning of the season and if Clabo played to the expectations most of us had for him (again, you saw him playing like absolute ****, right?), it's a different season.

Let's not act like you saw all of this coming.

Add HC and staff, and GM to that list.
