Darlington: There will be clarity by day's end

God I hope so! People complain about Philbin and his damn post game speeches with note cards......I say who cares! I think Philbin needs more power and Ireland has had his time.....this last draft was a disaster.....along with the Wheeler signing. The only transaction made that made financial sense was Grimes........I like Wallace, but he is overpaid....

Wheeler is here because Joe didn't want Dansby. Our late season collapse is all on the the coaches. If Philbin can make an major overhall of the coaches, and soften his stance on having players who don't kiss ass, I'll all for keeping him. I just don't think he's that type of man.

When he gives his statement, Ireland will be under the podium with his head in Ross' crotch.

Ross walks up to the podium, looks at the 2 reporters in the room, smiles, leans forward and says, "I love lamp".

At this point, I will be surprised if any changes are made, including Ireland and Sherman.

I feel the same. Joe doesn't won't Sherman to go, Mr. Ross supposedly told Ireland he would be back a month or two back, and doesn't won't to go back on his word. He has probably waited this long in hopes everyone would calm down.

You do realize Philbin had input on that draft, right? On top of that, it was Philbin and his coaching staff that refused to even let any of them on the field...

I certainly hope the server is prepared for this.

Ross will finally decide what flavor margarita he and Jeff will be sipping on in the Bahamas :chuckle:

Are you sure? Were you there at the draft? Were you in the draft room? Were you in the predraft meetings? NO you weren't. Ireland is the GM and has made SEVERAL errors...even before Philbin was there. Ireland has been here long enough......time to go.

I don't know why you people want to fire and cut everyone. They'll just go somewhere else and win Super Bowls and beat us into the ground each year. :)

It's like we are the breeding ground of success... except we don't get to enjoy the "winning" part. :)

It has been WIDELY reported that Philbin has had significant input on players drafted, EVERY coach does.

NO GM WORKS IN A VACUUM! They pick players with input from the coaching staff. They pick players that fit the coaches' schemes and personality profiles. There have been several moves Ireland has made that have Philbin's finger prints all over them, notably: gutting the team of any and all outspoken players, including Dansby and Bush. Marshall was also shipped out of town because he didn't fit Philbin's preferred player persona.

Philbin ABSOLUTELY had input on the past 2 drafts, just as Sparano had input on the previous 4.

That being said, Ireland SUCKS and SHOULD BE GONE! But it is really naive to just pin all the Dolphins' personnel woes on Ireland and completely absolve Philbin of any blame as if he is just completely sideswiped by player acquisitions..
