Darrelle Revis

I wouldn't want Revis. I may be in the minority, but I think he is over-rated. Not only that, he is a me first player and we don't need that ****.

If you thought the Pats got away with a lot of PIs before wait until you see Revis there. He'll be doing things akin to molestation and the wr will get flagged

Not a great fit in styles and he probably is going to command too much money, but it's nice to dream. I think he has another good year or two left in him, but a lot of teams needing a CB, I think he'll get a lot for a 1 or 2 year deal.

You can almost bank on that, anybody who disagrees is fooling themselves.

If the Bucs would take a 3rd or a 4th, how do you not do it? You're talking about a HOF talent here.

#Bucs also will have to give the @nyjets a third round pick to complete the 2013 trade rather than a fourth-rounder.

It is actually the other way around. If Revis is off the roster by Wednesday they get a 4th. If he is on the roster they get a 3rd. So cutting or releasing him tomorrow hurts the Jets.

It's the $16 million cap hit that you have to deal with if you trade for him that's the problem. Of course, we're fortunate that we don't have a QB that gets paid a ton. I'd trade our second for at least one year of Revis. If it turns out we can't afford him because Tannehill is due for a huge raise in two years, it means that we had a hell of a run.

I saw that, somebody (Schefter?) straightened everybody up about the confusion.

Revis is a bump and run CB all the way. Our system is not his best fit.

The more I think about this, I would trade a second round pick for him assuming his cap hit can be reasonably managed. While the yearly cap hit is very high, his contract is favorable in that his money and cap hit is only guaranteed year to year. We're fortunate that our QB is not a huge cap hit. The 50th pick in the draft in all likelihood will not be as good as even one year of Revis.

Not a bad idea but you havr to plan for him not to be happy after that first year which he is a lock to do.

I would wait for the cut. I would bring him in.... I would stay closely monitored to his contract offerings and at most offer a 3 or 4 year with a lot of gauranteed money to offset a smaller yearly hit.

The Bucs did give up a lot to get him. But they wrote his contact the correct way. They cut him with ZERO cap hit.

Revis will probably listen to us because of Hickey.

We may have a back channel to his whole process and might quietly sneak in and grab him. Cutting Patterson and not pursuing Carroll, Clemons, Soliai and Starks gives us a lot of options and holes. If we go after Revis, we could change defensive philosophies with younger guys up front while Grimes and Revis lock down the receivers. We would inherently funnel all of the opposition's passing game to the middle of the field.

I'm just saying, with Wake and Vernon pressing the edges and an improved Jordan covering the TE and also harassing the pocket with Revis and Grimes covering the edges it would definitely be a different looking defense. Jones and Delmas over the top.... it all comes down to the DT's and LB's covering the run.

I doubt it would happen, but it is definitely one of those "up the sleeve" moves that could rock Finheaven.
