Darren Krein's unique and cutting edge approach to strength and conditioning with the Miami Dolphins was recognized by his peers last week when he received the highest honor of his profession.

Krein has been bestowed the title of NFL Strength Coach of the Year. He was presented with the award at the NFL Strength & Conditioning Coaches annual banquet in Indianapolis.

Krein just completed his third season with the Dolphins after being named the head strength and conditioning coach on January 20, 2011.

Man i wish he could have done something with Martin...............

Strange considering we looked weak and faded at the end of games....

Apparently, Krein went from "Feed The Wolf" with Sparano to "Feed On Wolf-Puss" with last year's group.

That's what happens when your offense cant sustain a drive and you're ranked 29th in time of possession.

When you're THAT bad, it has nothing to do with conditioning.

People honestly bitch about everything

Dude, he's not bitching he's speaking the truth. We looked drag ass a lot of times last year. What about two years ago when after the strike was over how bad and tired our players got. I know there was no contact with coaches and players but why did we look worse than any other team?

I think it was due to other issues:

1) Incredibly bad OC (playcalling was never consistently good, pulling better players out of the game inexplicably)
2) Poor leadership at HC (yeah, I said it)
3) Poor talent on the OL

Considering how crap our offense was during the end of the season, our D played pretty damned well. We were 27th in offensive time of possession last year and we had the 5th most plays run on us. despite that, we were 8th best in points allowed. That's some good conditioning.
