Still holding out hope that these 3 get into a frenzy to grab him. At rb, Dallas has Marion Barber and a rookie on their roster, thats it. Raiders want him, and now reports are the Jets are in the mix. I'm quite sure we wouldn't deal with the Jets, but if a bidding war starts, we could end up with a trade. Reading his Scouting Report, it's hard not to want him in a Dolphins uniform!

Arkansas RB Darren McFadden Scouting Report
Height: 6-2, Weight: 205, Draft Grade: 97

Strengths: Flat-out one of the more talented running backs to come along in some time…cross between Adrian Peterson and Reggie Bush…versatility is remarkable…quickness to burst through even the smallest hole in the offensive line…lightning fast to the outside…can take any play the distance…outstanding hands, catches the ball effortlessly out of the backfield…has a nose for the end zone…for what it is worth, he is unique because he throw the ball very well…will immediately step into a NFL teams backfield and become a sensational dual threat…

Weaknesses: There are questions whether he can handle the entire work load…can he be counted on to run the ball as effectively between the tackles in the NFL…he was not utilized much as a blocker in college, so there are question marks there…some pundits feel McFadden is a similar player to Reggie Bush…Bush’s struggles in 2007 have heightened some concerns about McFadden…McFadden has thin legs and since his frame is not ideal, injury could be a concern…

Overall: It is hard to find weaknesses in Darren McFadden, which is why he is one of the most outstanding prospects in the 2008 NFL Draft. Darren McFadden has all the tools scouts look for in a running back, he truly is the entire package. Like any rookie RB he must work on his endurance to avoid hitting the rookie wall towards the end of his 1st NFL season, but teams at the top of the 2008 NFL Draft are salivating at the possibility of adding this draft classes ultimate offensive weapon to their repertoire. The 2007 impact of Adrian Peterson is likely to help McFadden's case.

we cant let McFadden get to the stinking JETS. We would regret that for a long time, especially since we couldnt stop anyone rushing last year and the JETS have beefed up their OL.

I say we draft McFadden and trade him later. We can then get out of the top pick $$ issue and get who we want later. Im sure Chicago would want him, Cincy could use him, Detroit?

If we cant trade him then so what? We get stuck with a premier running back that can break it for a TD at any time. Its safe to assume he can score 20 TD from returns, Rushing and recieveing in 2008. He shared the load with F Jones in College. Ronnie Brown shared load with Cadillac in College. Its a perfect fit. Draft an OL with pick 2a and lets roll.

damn you dagger, you makin me start thinkin about drafting him again!

I made the same arguments in Jan/Feb, can you really pass on a guy like this? He is thought by many as a BETTER version of Adrian Peterson, and Ronnie Brown has been hurt every year.

With McFadden and Ronnie Brown in the backfield, draft 1-2 OL, add a Wr and a TE, and Beck or McCown could begin to flourish.

another scenario:

Draft Darren McFadden, then trade him to Dallas for the #22 pick ,Marion Barber and a 5th rounder.

I have said this for months take Run DMC and hold him ransom with anyone who will trade. I think Jones will pull the trigger and give us #22, #28 and Carpenter, Spears and maybe another player or pick. We could get maybe 3-4 good starters with trading McFadden but if we keep him maybe Brown can stay healthy with half workload. We could also line McFadden up as a reciever beside Ginn and Wilford. I just dont have much faith in Ricky or Booker. And Brown has really been a dissappointment to me with him getting hurt every year. We def have to draft a couple of OT and a OG. McFadden would make a huge difference either way with him playing with us or trading him. Good point is Jets take him or what if he falls to Patriots. Or what if they trade up with Jets and take Run DMC Do you realize how deadly that Offense would be. Brady , Moss, Welker, Run DMC, Faulk, Moroney, Cmon I almost think we have to take him. Im not sold on Gholston. I hate Dorsey. Jake WOuld be smart safe pick. Chris is real good but I hear that he will not be a dominate force in NFL . I almost say roll the dice and take Dmac. Then if Brown gets hurt as usual we have a superstar to come in. Maybe then we try to trade Brown next year if Dmac is that good or if Brown gets hurt again.

There will be some good RT later in the draft. Pick DMC and watch how open Ginn gets when theres no safety help.
