What does Spikes have to do with the thread starter's question/statement regarding Daryl Smith???
I don't want Spikes, he makes a few big plays here and there, but he's a huge liability against the pass. I'd love love love D.Smith on a 2-year deal. Keep Wheeler as a special teamer backup this year then cut him next offseason.

Since Beason has been signed, Smith would be a vet I'd look into, but I'd preferably look toward the draft for one. CJ Mosley probably will not last to us, but a name I'd look at is Chris Borland. Borland played at Wisconsin, and he reminds me so much of Zach Thomas' style of play. I watched him play a lot.

While we might draft a LB I seriously doubt we will sign one with as much money as we have wrapped up in the position at the moment. There are too many other priority positions to fill via free agency.
