Wow...I am amazed how after another dismal performance by Culpepper there are people claiming we wouldn't have won without him. Against the Titans...a team that had been giving up 31.5 points per game. I think we won in spite of him. Only 13 points and on the game winning drive all he did was fumble the ball when sacked. All the yardage gained was on the ground. I wonder how we can be watching a totally different player out there.

Then it came to me Daunte reminds of when I have had friends that start dating a girl that all of his buddies say "Dude, she is so ugly. What is wrong with you!" But he can't see it. He keeps talking about how wonderful and beautiful she is despite the obvious. Of course, as the bad times build eventually the love dies and he is wondering "What in the hell did I ever see in her?" I just wonder how long it will take those in love with Daunte to snap out of their fantasy world and realize he is playing ugly as hell right now!

i like the ugly girlfriend analogy.. but it's more like Daunte is the super-hot GF with a drug prob.

this can be fixed

I dont think Frerotte or harrington would have risked thier knee after tearing 3 ligaments a short wile ago ... to sacrafice the body for that TD run!!

Remember...if you wanna be happy for the rest of your life, never make a pretty woman your wife...(!)

I don't doubt his courage. I commend him for that. But the bottom line is he shouldn't be out on that field right now. He is playing horrible. I am amazed at the ability to ignore the obivious and be in such denial at his level of play. Of course, this is just my opinion and I know it is always risky to insult someone's girlfriend so I fully expect to be attacked bc of it.:D

You sound like quite the prick for telling your friend that his girlfriend is ugly. Why the hell do you care as long as your friend is happy. Where you planning on tag teaming her or something?a

Because unfortunately I love hanging around my group of buddies but it gets old to listen to him keep saying how "great" and "wonderful" she is when it is anyting but the truth. Or you could be right, I am just being a prick...

I wouldn't go as far as to say we wouldn't have won without Daunte, but to say his performance was dismal is just shortsighted. He made very few mistakes today. He didn't hold onto the ball like he did last week and almost every sack he took was the line's fault. He also made some good throws and didn't force the ball. But when you are getting no help in the run game and no time to do anything it is hard to have a good day. He still has some things to work on, but he looked much better today than he did in the previous two games and if he can continue to build off of this and the line can give him a little help we will be in fine shape.

Awesome analogy. Prolly the best one I have heard when referring to Daunte. You can't fix ugly, but you can always go to rehab.

So she's not wonderful because she doesn't look the way she should. tsk tsk tsk:lol:

I don't know how anyone thought Culpepper would come in and light the world on fire when he's coming off one of the most serious sports injuries you can have. Obviously the coaching staff thinks that when he's adjusted fully he'll give us a better chance than Joey might give us now to win. And I think Joey is a serviceable backup at best.
