if you have any news on how hes recovering or how long it will take him before returning.

I'd rather not rush it. IMO sit him for the whole season. He is only good for 1 reason, his mobility. If you force him out there without his mobility, as we did this season, he is useless.

Not to mention the common case of taking 2 years to recover fully from a ACL tear.

I seriously wish we'd place him on I.R. for the year and move on. He isn't going to be worth anything this season anyway. Just let him rehab and use his roster spot for someone else.

If hes not totally 100% fit then i say place him on I.R. and lets see Harrington take charge and bring Lemon in later through the season if our performances do not improve.

IF CULPEPPER WAS SERIOUS ABOUT REHAB ... THEN HE WOULD LOSE ABOUT 30 POUNDS

He NEEDS his mobility .... lose weight, rehab til the cows come home, then put the 'muscle' back on -- IF his body can tolerate it ....

His fortee is NOT as a pocket passer, so staying at 250+ is NOT helping him in any way .... get down to 220 and he'd be amazed at how much of a difference it makes ....

I'm NOT inferring that this is the 'answer' .... what I am saying is that what I DON'T see is the overall ethic doing the RIGHT things to get to where he needs to be ...

My brain tells me that he will never truly recover nor will he ever be in the same offensive environment that he had in MIN ... thus what most wanted to see out of him -- WILL NEVER HAPPEN .... even if he DOES do the right things ... but your heart can always HOPE so

Phinanayst - I have that same feeling, I do not think he will ever be what he was, not that he was a great QB, but he was above average QB who could make plays and make a difference. I think he will be average at best when he comes back, and I don't think that will be good enough.

He's begun to practice with a "red" injury jersey. I would guess that the reason Saban didn't put him on IR is because he plans on playing him some before this tumultous season is over to get him some confidence building games to prepare him for next year.

I think Culpepper has to play at least one game towards the very end of the season just to see what he has. We can't go into a situation like we did this year not knowing how healthy he will be. I think its even more important this year because he is owed something like 9 million dollars (that could be wrong) and we need him to play like a 9 million dollar player for this team to be successful. I think playing him the last 2 or 3 weeks if he is close to 100 percent would help us determine what we will do with our number one draft choice.

Since he's begun red jersey practice, I wonder if they'll allow him to play at Minnesota - less than 1 month away. He is a competitor he wants a shot at his old team.

yes, we all know we left our ineptitude behind us when joey took over
