Miami Dolphins quarterback Daunte Culpepper is in NFL limbo. He's still under contract, but the Dolphins have locked him out of their practice facilities. Culpepper is protesting the team's actions, an arbitration hearing is scheduled for June 29, and he is expected to win his grievance and become an unrestricted free agent. When that happens, the Jets should offer him a contract. ... With Culpepper as Chad Pennington's backup, the Jets wouldn't have to worry that they were one Pennington shoulder injury away from having their season implode before their eyes. Culpepper isn't the star he was a couple of years ago, but he's a capable enough quarterback that he could take over the team if Pennington got hurt.

We release Daunte and he signs with the Jets, what a story that would be or how about we trade him for Pete Kendall. Apperently a write in NY thinks the Jets should aquire DC. This thing is becoming a soap opera.

Culpepper is apparently drawing alot interest and the Dolphins realize this, hence why want to trade him. Teams who have been linked are Jags,Rams,Packers, Falcons and Jets.If the arbitrator rules we must let DC practice, we let him practice. I dont the think the ruling necessarily means we need to release him, just let him practice.

I bet Mueller and company let DC use their facility and try to work a trade before TC. Mueller can defitnetly stand his ground and just beacuse DC wins the case it doesnt mean we need to realease him. All it means is we must let him participate in TC and at our facility, so we let him and we try to workout a trade.

He hasn't been barred from the team facilities, he has total access to everything. He has been told he will not see any field action. He can stand on the sidelines and watch everything going on.....he has chosen not to do that but to spend his time in the weight room and in the rehab units. That is the big difference between McNair & C-Pep, and also why the Dolphins have a chance to win the arbitration.

A trade is still contingent on him renegotiating his contract.

If this is true we just might have a chance in winning this thing. What I dont like is the judge for the case was the same judge for the Mcnair case. One thing I do give Mueller credit for is standing his ground. In the past we would have probably released him or maybe even penciled this guy in as the starter and never traded for Green. One more thing, what is all this love our player are recieving from our divisional rivals. Magini is mimicking everything BB does.

So lets say we win and he doesnt renegotiate his contract our of pride what do we do.

Do what we did with the Chiefs, give in. It's not like you're going to pay him and keep him on the roster.

Yes but he also loses another year. It will be too late once we release him for him to find a starting position with another team. He will be so far behind in preparation he'll never catch up. Remember we can keep him until just several days before the regular season begins if we win the arbitration case. If we win, the longer he holds out to not renegotitate the less chance he has of being on a team this year.

Sure the Dolphins more than likely will get ZILCH for him, but at least we'll get some satisfaction that DC's stubborness will have cost him a contract for this year. If he renegotiated and was traded he would be more likely to see money for this year & next year. Another full season out of football really will hurt him, as if will then make it almost 3 full seasons out of football, and you lose it being off that long.

He is as dumb as we thought he was. A brick has more intelligence. :sidelol:

Daunte sounds like Ricky 2.0, the QB who just wouldnt resructure.

Bottom line-this player will not play a down for Coach Cameron's Dolphins so get the best you can for him and boot him before he becomes more of a distraction

Daunte is going through the same process Olindo went through. The only difference is Mare took it like a man. Daunte is a stubborn, egotistical, crybaby Quaterback. The guys thinks because he was good, he derservs a shot to start. News Flash Duante you were good and you need an agent, because obviously you dont know your value. The guy seriously needs to stop all this nonsense and get an Agent.

Depends on the team he went to. If he went to the Rams there would be little adjustment since he knows the system. He would just have to wait for Bulgar to get injured.
