Not only is Daunte horrible, he's starting to act like Terrel Owens. ESPN posted the link stating that Pep and Saban fought over starting Harrington on Sunday.

I'm not sure how Daunte could argue his case that he should be the starting QB at this point in the season. And, it's starting to look like Saban should have stayed in college as a coach, much like Pete Carroll @ USC. He has been consistantly unimpressive since his arrival.

I'd say it's time to ditch the old 3-4 defense and back to the 4-3.

Man, it'd be nice to have Drew Brees at this point.:shakeno:

I'm not a big Saban fan but I believe that he deserves credit for doing what he thinks is best for the Dolphins. He hasn't hid behind his less-than-expected first round draft pick instead he keeps the guy on the bench. He hasn't dumped Wright because the guy represents potential value to the team. If Dante is a bust he is not afraid to switch QBs. Maybe Saban is in over his head but he does have credibility.

constantly unimpressive? what in the world to you expect a guy who's been in the league for a year and a half to do? Give the man at least four years before making glib remarks

First off we had a 9 - 7 record last year lets not forget that. Second thing is we wanted Drew Brees but we couldn't afford him doesn't people understand that. Culpepper came a whole lot cheaper against the Salary Cap. We the little moves we made in the offseason we are still one of the highest cap riddled teams. Until we unload salary's of some of these older vets it will continue.

Side note... In my opinion this team is going to be much younger next year. We will have guys like Fred Evans, Rod Right, Vickerson, Roth playing and Channing will take over Zach's spot and Zach will be let go. That's just in the front 7.

There's another thread you might enjoy: "Daunte's Being Unbelievably Selfish" (started by me, but with a lot of different people's opinions on Daunte and Saban's argument as well as Daunte's attitude at present).

:shakeno: I'm never amazed at the stupidity of some posters. I'm sorry if that offends, but it is accurate.
Daunte horrible? No he hasn't played great, but horrible?
Acting like Terrel Owens? How so?

Saban has been been consistantly unimpressive since his arrival? Taking ateam that was 4-12 and going 9-7 is unimpressive? What did you expect?

It's time to ditch the old 3-4 defense and back to the 4-3? Our defense played lights out. We stumped the best Qb in the league and almost completely neutralised one of the league's best running attacks. The 3-4 was looking pretty darn good to me. I don't know what game you were watching.

oh stop. what do u think culpepper is gonna be happy about not starting? have you ever considered that he was healthy enough to do good in practice monday. maybe it cam across your mind that his injury was a scapegoat for putting harrington in there. would you be happy if you were him? hell no.

Wait a minute... let's think about this. Hypothetically, if your boss came to you and told you that you were going to be replaced or demoted would you not plead your case!

I just think it shows that CP is very competitive and wants to play. If he didn't care he would accept it, walk away quietly and still collect his paycheck.

I don't know about you but I would definately be pleading my case as well!

Saban is the coach. What he says is what goes. Right or wrong he makes the decisions and the players will have to learn to live with it.

Really annoying when multiple threads like this are started. I compare it favorably to the Ronnie Brown threads. One person says Ronnie has "bad vision" and then all of a sudden we have 100 other fans using that statement when they cant think of a reason to criticize ronnie's play just because he hasn't had a huge rushing year to this point. Are there questions about his vision? Sure.

Does everyone and there brother take one persons opinion and spin it to death even though they dont have a clue if he really does or doesn't have good vision....everyday! Sorry for the rant.

Well, if my job was being on a "team" I would do what is best for the team. And a heated arguement and pleading your case is apples to oranges.

Any company worth its weight considers all its employees a member of its "team." Companies like Bridgestone/Firestone even go as far as to call "employees" teammates, because they recognize in order to be successful in any business it requires effort and teamwork from all levels of the business. I guarantee if any single person (that enjoys thier job) was told they were being demoted, that person would try and convince thier bosses to do otherwise.

I would also bet thet Daunte thinks he's the best QB on the team, and therefore believes that him playing would be what was best for the team. Quit trying to bash someone for just wanting to play.

Oh, come on. There are no parallels between the two. Owens wants attention at the expense of his team, Culpepper wants to play and be a part of the team. Hyperbole only goes so far.

Culpepper, Saban said, knows he's doing something that's best for the team right now, even though the Dolphins' top offseason acquisition is obviously disappointed by the situation. "I understand that and I respect it," Saban said. "I would be a lot more concerned if the guy said: 'Great, I don't care. Let me go down to South Beach and see what's going on down there.' I would be real concerned then."

Saban doesnt seem too upset with him after this horrible fight that makes him as bad as TO. Some of you people are a joke plain and simple. It's you want DC to fail so you can say yay I was right after 2 weeks that he shouldnt start. Only thing Joey does better is not take sacks, hopefully once Duantes knee gets strong again he'll be able to avoid the rush better and then Joey has nothing on him. You'd think Dolphin fans would be tired of rooting for the backup QB after how many times you've done that and its backfired

Dude, that's a bunch of HR jargan. I worked at a retail store when I was 15 that called us "teammates." There was no incentive to work like a team there, it was just a bunch of crap to get us to come in a feel like we were making a BIG difference.

There is a clear cut difference between a tire company and a football team.

I'm not buying your debate at all. Daunte has been a 2nd string QB for almost 3 years and he is worried that his own pay will be affected when he is eventually cut, released, traded, etc...
