first let me say that i hate the steelers and it makes me sick everytime they win. i cant stand big ben and all the overhyping about him.,but i must say that i have gained a new respect for him.
i see why pitt players love him and i see why they say he is a true leader and they will follow him anywhere.
did anyone else see the post game interview,or was it just us up here?the thing that impressed me was that he played an awful game and HE TOOK RESPONSISBILTY FOR IT. he said the loss was on him and that if he would have played better they could have won.
the reason this strikes me is because every time a minny fan bitc#es about daunte they say he never excepts blame when he screws up, its always we need to do this and we didnt do this.
so i went back and listened to dauntes post game interviews and they are right it was alot of we, we ,we.
big ben got beat up and hit often but he took the blame for his poor playand he didnt make any excuses. this is a sign of a true leader.not the best qb but at least hes man enough to take responsibility.
how far will the fins follow a guy who says we,we,we

To be honest, it wasn't just Daunte Culpepper's fault. He had some pretty serious brain farts to be sure, but the entire offensive effort as a whole from Mularkey on down flat out sucked *** in that game. Daunte is right - the team lost that game.

DC definitely needs to accept responsibility whenever he makes mistakes like the Porter INT last week. But yesterday was not on D.C. And to get this out there, I don't know how many will agree... but Big Ben is over-rated!!

The first thing that I noticed when Saban came to town was the use of the word "we" constantly. He came in as Football Guru, GM and Head Coach so when he kept saying we I was wondering if he had a frog in his pocket! It could just be a Saban thing being passed down to the players. The team concept etc. When Daunte hits for 350 yds. and 3 TDs he'll probably say " I played great." We'll see after he does it!! This week, maybe??

im not just talking about the buff game,im also talking about the pitt game when he just fell apart. no it wasnt all his fault but he could except some blame and take some pressure off of his teamates. if he took some blame even for some of the sacks in the buff game it would make the oline happy that he was sicking up for them instead of not saying anything.
ben didnt blame anyone but himself and said he should have played better.wouldnt you follow and play harder for a guy that took the blame off of you

If I was doing a horrible job and still wanted to bring home a paycheck every week I would...

are you trying to say daunte only cares about daunte?

I'm saying that the offense as a whole stinks it up, and the whole of the offense takes the blame. If I were Mularkey or a lineman I'd love for Daunte to take the blame off of my crappy performance so I don't have to worry about improving my game at all, sit back, and collect a paycheck. I'm sure that none of them like to hear about what a crappy job they're doing, but they need to man up and fix it if they want any respect.

the only player on our offense that shouldn't be ashamed of himself is ronnie.

you're missing V.carey, Wes Welker and Marty booker, and lee suggs

i remember when dc was in minnesota, the dlinemen had to wrap both arms around him in a bear hug to get him down, but in miami it seems like the defenses are able to bring him down with their pinky fingers.

heres the one problem i have with what you said.
i agree that we should of ran the ball alot more than what we did.with that being said how do we know that it was all poor play calling and not poor exacution by daunte. and the oline is not great but you cant hold the ball for that long and not expect to get hit.
i think mm had to much faith in daunte and he made himself look horrible by keep putting the ball in dc hands.
if your gonna get the credit for playing good (hopefully) then it would be nice if you took some of the blame when you implode
