I told myself that after this loss I was going to ignore the articles, the boards, the forums, and the Buffalo/Rochester Radio Sports station that I am currently listening too.

This is only week 2 of the season, and I don't think were done,,,, yet, however something is bothering me.

I haven't seen a QB straight out lose a game in quite some time, from the opening drive, it looked like Daunte was thinking about throwing the ball before he even had the ball in his hands.

And that's just it, he's thinking way to much. (to many mind "last Samuari"), Football is a game, its as much about x's and o's as it is about having fun, and right now he's taking things way to seriously.

I would rather see him throw downfield, and try and make things happen, and get picked then to see him look baffled and hold the ball to long, and make the Bills D-line look like studs.

It's not our offensive line, they protected well, he took way to long, he's thinking way to much, he needs to let the game come to him and have fun.

I got nervous about things when he wouldn't sit down for an interview with Deion Sanders before the Steelers game, he's built up a wall, and he thinks that he has something to prove.

Not good he needs to relax.

He has nothing to prove, he doesn't need to win games for us, just distribute the damn ball.

This is Gut check time for this team, I had my concerns about all the pre-season hype, I really thought we should be aiming for a wildcard game, we have way to many new faces, new coordinators on this team to be considered a Superbowl contender, not this year, not yet sorry.

It takes time to build a team have players that can run a system. Were not their yet, we should have won this game even if playing badly like we did.

We have no identity, are we a passing team or a running team?

I've been a fan of this team for as long as i can remember 30 years and I won't let the hype ever get to me.

I'm upset and frustrated, if there was a point in the season where their is a "team" meeting, this is it, cause right now we are very close to being the laughing stock of the league, only becuase Tenesse, Houston and Oakland are worse right now.

I think over the long haul with injuries and lack of Depth in our division we should be ok, but if Daunte continues to think that the game rests on his shoulders were going to be in big trouble.

Daunte and I don't think you'll read this but if you did, all I can say is go out and have fun, when you push to hard usually bad things happen.

We have a chance to even up at 2 and 2 before our next big game, the season is not over but after 2 weeks we are at a crossroad.

I feel better now.:D

Maybe so, BUT

I think you may be onto something here. He is trying way too hard to make plays. BUT does that not come back to the offensive game plan and play calling? We all heard everyone saying how smart Buffalo's plan was for not asking too much of Lossman by utilizing the running game and simple throws. Why can't we develop a similar game plan? I feel like the offensive system we are attemting to use is setting him up for failure when it could be for success if they would just spend the time to develop the running game this team is capable of having with Ronnie Brown in the backfield.

Amen man, seriously we had 6 minutes remaining against the Steelers and we looked like we were running a 2 minute offense.

Then yesterday aside for the fact that we hurt ourselves with Penalities and stupid mistakes, we moved the ball, easily on the ground.

Of course its hard to continue to run when its 2 and 20 every other serious.

as long as he has that "chip" he is going to try "too" hard. when he realises that he has the talent and he is smart and he does have the weapons around him he will settle down. he maybe gelled witht he rest of the team...but proving the naysayers wrong is still in the forfront of his mind.

I've felt the same many times as you described your preseason worries. But, I've come to one conclusion: the responsibility lies on Saban.

He chose to run Gus out of town. He chose to leave Sage without a home. He chose to posture while not addressing Ricky's absence. He chose to start Daunte. He chose to allow the FO to drag their feet on the J. Allen contract talks.

He has methodically allowed this slow deterioration to occur. His inactions has cost this team any momentum it had carrying over from last year.

Noone is going to prove to me that pushing Gus out the door was an intelligent choice.

Gus OPENLY displayed loyalty to this team and expressed his desire to lead us into a continued winning tradition under Saban. Saban's reply? "Here's your check, get out of town."

Lessons in Rebuilding 101: Don't destroy positive momentum that affords your team victory.

Write it down, I said it.
