Anybody on this message board who is still enthusiastically supporting Daunte really needs to qualify their support by saying "assuming he regains his 2004 pro bowl level of performance." Because quite frankly, Daunte stunk it up for the Vikings before he got hurt in 2005 and played poorly for the Dolphins (fumbles/sacks/interception) during games 1-4 of 2006. Daunte hasn't played well in 2 years, and he may never regain his pro bowl form - so wake up to reality!
If Daunte regains his 2004 pro bowl level of performance, then that will be great. All of us Dolphins fans want the best player possible at QB. But unless that happens, Joey is the QB of the present and possibly our QB of the future. Until Daunte shows he can regain his old form, he is nothing but a fumbling and stumbling tackling dummy (based on his 2006 performance). Don't get me wrong as I would love to see a pro-bowl Daunte again, but there is a good chance that will never happen. Thus, we should be grateful that Joey is playing well and appears to be getting better.
