Dave George: Dolphins go 'all in' with reach in grabbing Ryan Tannehill

Opinions are like a-holes....everyone has one.

I'm sorry this concept of reaching for top 15 draft picks is not applicable these days. Not with the current rookie pay scales. The main reason you had to hit on players in the top 15 was the LARGE salary you had to tie up for 4-5 years. If you don't think a top 15 pick is going to work out these days, you can cut bait after 2-years with ease.

The NFL is a different league after the current rookie salary scale was put in place. Some ppl IMO are just a little slow to catch on to that.

I personally hate this pick, but if we would've passed, we would be known as 'gutless' and having 'no balls'. I applaud Ireland for pulling the trigger on a QB early round one. Still think it was an awful pick though

:hclap: Thank you.

There is no such thing as a reach when it comes to a franchise quarterback.

What makes you think Tannehill will be a franchise quarterback? This is a huge risk because the guy might end up being a bust.

i agree with George, Tannehill wasent the right Pick, i still feel weeden was our QB, time will show this to be true. im mad as Hell!!!!!

Just another no name writer needing attention by going negative. I choose to think we had the best knowledge of anyone on Tannehill's capabilities.

Ryan Tannehill fits Philbin to a tee. Great character and was willing to give up playing Qb for the team. That speaks volumes to his character. And then he goes a plays well and lifts his team under durress.

What your going to notice while Moore and Gerrard drop back along side Tannehill in practice is Tannehill will stand above the other two and have prior knowledge. They will work on his feet but make no mistake, T-hill has more than Moore in speed, roll-out ability, and knowledge from the get go.

Great pick when you consider he plays for us under Philbin/Sherman.

Fantastic for some people to pretend they already know how things will work out. It's okay though, it's why message boards like this one exist right?

Not really. We've taken safe picks Odrick, Long, and Pouncey and they've helped contribute to 3 straight losing seasons. If he doesnt work out, we'll find someone else. The rookie scale isnt crippling like it used to be. One things for sure, we werent competing for anything significant with the Moores/Garrards/Feeleys/Frerottes/Hennes/Whites/etc
