First, the easy decision. Brandon Gibson won’t be back. Barring a complete restructure or surprise, that’s a cap saving of $3.26 million.

The Dolphins no doubt have looked into contract restructures with each. Wallace says he isn’t open to one. Hartline should be.

So by cutting Gibson, Hartline and Wallace, the team could save more than $16 million and completely re-do the receiving corps with holdovers Landry and Rishard Matthews. They’d need help in a hurry, either through free agency or the draft.

I know I said it in another thread, but draft White/Parker in the 1st., Dorsett in the 3rd and Walford in the 4th. Add them to Wallace, Landry, Clay and Sims (maybe restructure Hartline or Gibby) and HELLO OFFENSE.

It doesn't appear to me that Philbin has any use for Mathews.

Queasy can't be dumb '& blind' can he? don't he know he's being set up?!! where's he gonna get 10tds right quick?

Matthews is too cheap to cut. It just doesn't make financial sense.

Those boys from the U won't be around in those rounds. They tore it up at the combine & were the best players at their positions there. Both are now in the second round conversation & should both be gone before we pick in the third round.

Wallace is tired of playing for a losing or mediocre team. Aren't you tired of watching?

I agree but I believe you mean the Senior Bowl, the combine hasn't happened yet

I think this is the beginning of the end for Wallace, he made his millions, quit on Luck or Brady and see where that gets you.

A team with plenty of holes shouldn’t add to them. If you compare those cap-saving numbers between Wallace and Hartline and you realize Wallace costs less than $1 million more against the cap than Hartline. That makes the decision easy.

I agree with Hyde that this probably makes the most financial sense but just can't see Wallace and Miami having a meeting of the minds.

Wallace is not happy with Philbin and Philbin cannot handle outspoken and defiant players. He can leave, and land another big deal while he is still in his prime.
The Fins are years away from playoffs. He probably wants to go to a contender.

Looks like we are gonna get worse before we get better. Totally sucks

Torrey Smith? Doubt he leaves Baltimore to be honest, but very similar value and would likely cost around the same as we'd save on Wallace.

What's the point of keeping someone if they can't perform. It's still just a waste of money. Cat him. He is always in the doghouse.
