Letting Marshall go has to mean we're drafting a stud WR (blackmon or floyd) and clearing cap space for Manning and Clark or Saturday. Forget about Wayne, I dont see him a part of this deal. The phins would be smarter to grab a TE (which we desperately need) and a center (ditto), which also solves our RT/RG woes... now that carey and colombo are pretty much gone.
Every NFL player knows Bess is the true stud receiver (and highly underrated) on the team... so I say make him the #1 threat ala Welker (who has said himself that Bess is better than him). And uhh, did we forget we've got RB in the backfield?? hello?! Also don't forget we've got some pretty good young talent at the WR spot.
Annnd, I wouldn't bash Ireland so quickly. Realize this, Marshall (and anyone the dolphins trade right now) has low trade value for the simple reason everyone knows they need to clear cap space, even if not for Manning. It's a terribad bargaining position to be in. I look at the two 3rd-rounders Chicago gave as simply a 'courtesy' to somewhat save face, when in reality the phins woulda damned well practically let him go for free. Here's likely how the phone call went:
Ireland: "So, whadaya wanna gimme for Marshall?!"
BearsGM: "So, you scored Manning eh?"
Ireland: (silence)
BearsGM: "I'll do ya a favor and give ya two 3rd rounders. Take it or leave it."
Ireland: (grumble) fine!

I will applaud the FO if they simply score Manning because of this, moreso if they get Saturday, Wayne, or Clark. And moreso still if they draft Blackmon or Floyd.
p.s.
Remember the grumbles during the Heat trades of Odom, Butler, etc.? This kinda smells like that.
