Yesterday, as most everyone has now heard, ARod created a transparently obvious ploy to avoid testifying under oath by throwing his own hissy fit, banging the table and storming out of the hearing. Essentially he demanded that Commissioner Bud Selig face him and testify, when they knew full well it would be Major League Baseball's designated surrogate, league CEO Manfred, who ran the investigation and put forth The League's case not Selig. And he knew it. Most all the talking heads this morning have seen through this theatrical, table-banging charade as a means for his client ARod to subvert the system, inoculate himself legally from testifying on a bible, while creating another fall guy for under the bus traction.
Does any of this sound familiar? Just because it looks like Cornwell showed up two weeks or so after Martin stormed out of the cafeteria because the exact prank he played on someone else supposedly was the straw that broke the camel's back. Gimme a ****in break. Now it becomes obvious that the short "for show" stop-over in a local mental facility - surely not enough to provide any therapeutic benefit and an interview with a reporter (while never speaking to the coaches) before flying back to California was another theatrical production produced by David Cornwell.
Is it any wonder that Martin is now refusing to be questioned by the union? Is Cornwell afraid that by putting him in front of a neutral or critical questioner, he'll be revealed as the scammer with ulterior motives he likely really is? Again, if you think Martin, (who there've been no reports that I've seen where he's being treated by mental professionals in Cali) is suffering from anything other than a pussified, quitter DNA, then I've got a bridge in B'klyn I can sell you cheap. Cornwell, if he's walking and quacking like a duck, he sure ain't no ****in swan!
Cornwell, remember he's the guy that helped throw a conscientious urine sample handler under the bus in getting Ryan Braun on a technicality off on charges that now have been proven to be true. He is a subverter of justice and no matter who he selects as the fall guy, even Incognito, with all his blemishes, this scumbag is the real villain here and a major behind the scenes string puller. Right now, you can throw Joni Martin in with the likes of ARod and Braun in terms of credibility.... with Cornwell as the common denominator.
