David Cornwell’s statement regarding Jonathan Martin

Liberal PC or not you are saying if people dont want to be referred to as Nwords or hear comments about their sister or mother they should just find another line of work because the NFL is special and rules of society dont apply.
Ok Cool Got ya.

If he didn't like that language, SAY SOMETHING! ANYTHING! Don't run away and napalm the entire organization! This is ridiculous.

Look, I'm a straight guy and I have had gay co-workers before say some completely inappropriate things to me in the workplace before. Stuff that made me feel a bit uncomfortable, but I just let it be. I knew the guy didn't mean any harm by it. I didn't run off and send a press release out to the Sun-Sentinel accusing my co-workers of rape and my company of an unfit work environment. If it really bothered me enough, I wouldve said something to them, or went to HR.

The way Martin handled this situation is unfathomable to me. He didn't ONCE approach ANYONE in the organization about his troubles. THAT IS ON HIM!

No. But say something. There's no way in hell you condone the way Martin handled this.

If Martin never once told his teammates he was bothered by it, and played along, and bantered back with the same kind of language, do you really think he acted appropriately here?

This thing just blows my mind.

I dont like none of this. I dont like that MArtin walked out, I dont like that people want to act like the NFL has this culture of anything goes because hey were athletes and you dont understand.
I wish I could go to sleep and wake up like it never happened. The fact is we have two starters gone and our line got worse even if some people want to spin that its better.
Amazing how much players all of a sudden suck when we are pissed with them.

I will say I have never been bullied or condoned people talking that way to me or making jokes to me like that so I cant really get inside MArtin's head.
I just had to defend one of my soldiers because he used the word porch and monkeytogether in a text. Context did not matter at all, that some people of color had no issue did not matter at all.
I think the problem with people is we dont hold ourselves to a higher standard. Both Martin and InCognito seem to be an embarrassment to the team so all we can do is sit and wait.

Well its a problem either way because people also have the right to not hear these things and it shouldnt be based on who is the most powerful or has the most people around.
I dont have thin skin but in reality somethings should never be said anywhere and we need to stop condoing it by saying we dont know the context or intent because to the person disrespected it really doesnt matter.

All the rules hurt my head and believe me its rough watching your tongue but just because u think your kidding doesnt mean others are not bothered by your words.

Too f****ing bad. There is a right to free speech. There is no right to not be offended. People can be offended for what ever reason they can conjure up in their mind, but that doesn't mean the rest of the world should have to acquiesce to their demands.

Great draft pick Jeff, this big weirdo is going to mess this team up.
How ironic it would be if Ireland gets fired because of this 300 lb weasel of a man.
You sure know how to pick em Jeff.

The new accusations aren't against Incognito, they are against other players on the team. Martin appears to be willing to drag down every teammate who ever made a dirty joke in his presence...

These comments and quotes from his lawyer do not need to be leaked to be an effective tool, to me Martin is trying desperately to cover up he didn't belong.
I'm concerned he may do alot of damage to the Dolphins franchise.

So someone sends this text to Martin and a lot of posters are OK with this? Saying things like grow a pair, and and and I once worked on a pirate ship and cleaned up all the ashes, we always talked this way. Are the inmates running the asylum? You never worked on a construction site where this was common conversation, I promise someone would have picked up a #5 piece of re-bar and sent you home before the first footing was dug.

Ive heard dudes casually talking about trading wives for a weekend and wondering what the other wife would be like, in graphic detail. Nobody was tied to an anchor and thrown overboard.

yeah really. idk, i don't get all these guys talking about how they are their friends all make comments about cummng in their sisters ******* and slapping the **** out of their half ****** mothers all the time as a form of binding. i'm no prude, worked in consruction all my life. if ANYONE said anything like this to me i'd **** them up. joking around is one thing...but there is a line where it becomes a form of disrespect. saying somethng like "hey man your sister is hot" is one thing......telling a guy you are gonna run a train on his sister (which is basically rape) and cum all over her is a good way to get the crap kicked out of you

I can only imagine what Jets players say to each other... You do realize your coach has videos out there doing some kinky **** with his wife's feet, right? And he had a profile that listed all the deviant fetish crap he was into... You don't think he has said comparable stuff to players in the past? lol.

I bet Sanchez heard A LOT worse from that loudmouth scumbag Bart Scott...

Well in reality we dont know what what Martin did about it until after the investigation but Im pretty sure if there is reality in what he says there will be evidence he was bothered by it.
Nothing at all makes sense here from either side

Funny how this comes out a few days after dolphin team members defend Incognito. I think it's a case "ok, **** you all too". He's nothing but a coward.

here's the thing.. j mart is bombing the organization, if there is any proof that says he went to coach and said "some of the guys are talking about ****ing my sister, calling me a half ****** and threatening to kill me & I really am upset about this." and they did nothing then I'm in camp martin, until then I side on the actual teammates and their evaluation of the situation.

Get over yourselves people. Stop acting like you are so high brow and a few defecation and sister banging jokes are the worst thing ever.

Agreed. What would Chris Jericho say to JM & his camp? Oh, yeah. Lighten up, junior!

Nothing wrong w/ Beavis & Butthead or the 3 Stooges but hey I like Frasier too. Funny is funny.

Mike Freeman says that Cornwell has major dirt on the Dolphins players and coaches.

Here's what's funny about this situation. I bet if Richie Incognito had said that to Rex Ryan... Rex might have taken him up on it. :rotfl1:
