Sure...that is exactly why he is not working right now. It might not be that he is 33 years old, sucked in training camp, has a questionable work ethic and might have a balky back. Yep, wait it out.

Why didn't Jax bring him back at a reduced deal?

Then why aren't the Colts talking to him? They would rather have a gray bearded, over the hill Kerry Collins. What does that say about Garrard?

Because im pretty sure they are being cheap and probably because he would not have done that after they cut him the last game of preseason. He could have job right now with Miami or probably another team but he seems inclined to not just take any offer. The guy is not hurting for money he was on a 6 year 60 million dollar contract when they cut him 20 million of which was guaranteed . if he doersnt want to play for minimum for miami who are we to blame him. His wife is currently pregnant and why does he need so much drama for so little money. Miami has staff that will be gone next year why come to a team that most likely will stink all year and hurt your value even more. The guy is a proven solid NFL startin qb which is more than be said for anybody on our roster at that position. All people are different but it definately seems to be his choice not to play for minimum this season esp when he will have to go to a team and learn their offense which could definately hurt his future value. Sage Rosenfels who I have always been a fan is our backup qb because others turned us down not because he was our FO's target.

Kerry Collins was signed August 24 well before garrard was released.Garrard was released sept 6. The colts basically signed Collins for 4 million dollars. The colts dont have much cap room left so signing anybody to more than a minimum was probably out of question. Im pretty sure the colts made some assurances to collins .
 
Ok...I am done arguing about stinking David Garrard.

I bet by the end of the year the only games we win will be with Sage under center. The wins will be few and far between, but I bet they come with Sage under center.

Not really m,uch to argue about he did not want to come here and play. Hell I would sit out the year also rather than play for minimum if I had made the money he has. Help your pregnant wife out and stay in shape for next year. Some team will give him a shot next year if he wants to play
 
What does Garrard expect? Most of the teams that are seeming committed to winning now because they are, in fact, winning, are doing so because they don't need somebody at QB. And if one of those teams loses their starting QB, they are gonna start the next guy in line, not a street free agent.

He needs to be committed if he thinks he can still be a starting QB. Apparently he has too many yes men in his camp blowing his head up.

I was on and off about signing Garrard.

However, looks like the FO was right or at least got lucky not signing this P.O.S.

Garrard is a lousy car salesman.
 
Yup, it was insulting for Garrard to come out and take shots at the Dolphins when it is now damn clear that he had no intention of playing this season. Oh, and the reason he wanted guaranteed money? Because he knew he needed surgery! What a bum.
