We are three days into training camp and one thing appears clear & is becoming a routine, David Garrard is leading the race in the QB battle. Garrard has shown accuracy, touch passes & good mobility while running the offense, while Matt Moore has had fumbles, ints & the inaccuracy that hunted him all last season. In a West Coast Offense where accuracy is so important & in front of a new coaching staff, Moore's inaccuracy & poor practices are not helping him. In the mean local writers & pundits continue to praise Garrard day in & out.

He is what they are saying about David Garrard:

Garrard was the best QB on the field today. The highlight play was a 25-yard completion that he threaded between two defenders to a diving Davone Bess. Although

For the second consecutive day, David Garrard was the most impressive quarterback in camp. He's simply more polished right now. He threw Chad Johnson open on an in-cut. He connected a couple of times with Davone Bess and once with Julius Pruitt where he lofted the pass just out of the reach of the defender.

David Garrard continues to impress. Moves in pocket to avoid the rush and then finds Charles Clay for a 20-yard gain over defender's hands

QUOTE]Tannehill was the second-most accurate passer in camp today behind David Garrard, who continues to lead the quarterback pack.

Garrard's good people. Always felt he got thrown under the bus by Del Rio to often.

Im not expecting him to be the next Pennington, but would have no problem with him starting this season.

even if he is leading the pack, it means nothing until we see these guys in real scrimms and preseason games. Philbin is going to want to see all 3 perform in preseason games before making a decision.

But but but Moore was the 12th best rated QB last year...LMAO Garrard is 3 times the QB Moore ever thought about being, which is sad because Garrard is an average NFL QB.

He's always been a solid QB and he fits in the WCO, so this is no surprise to me.

If he starts, If he can provide anywhere close to the season he had in 2007 we will probably be in good position for a playoff spot.

3rd day of camp... Preseason games will show us who the starter should be.

I'm starting to think the best way to go is with the vet QB that wins the position battle, the rookie, and maybe a pat devlin as the emergency QB. Cut Moore or Garrard. Whichever one loses.

I also read that Tannehill was the sharpest today (Andy Kent) and neither Garrard nor Moore were very impressive today.

I'd say one big factor in all this is ... Installing a New Offense.

Wouldn't surprise me if all 11 on the field aren't sharp ... it may take everyone a while to get it all sorted out ... especially the QBs adapting to the confusion .... may be hard to judge performance.

Just a common sense thought. i.e. the first day they said they installed 96 slides

I've always thought Garrard was a solid QB. Not great, but solid. Hopefully if he wins the job, he does well for us.

Whoever picks up the hurry up offense and can make it go will win the job. T-hill has the playbook all in his head. Garrard knows what its like to win games at clutch time.
