per NFL network just now. An acorn just fell from the tree. I don't think the fins will nab him however.

Nor should they. I was actually relieved the forum was down today so I didn't have to maneuver around 17 different threads about why we should sign Garrard to replace Henne.

he is a better back up than moore tho. i think he will probly end up with the bengals, raiders, skins, or seahawks

Wow! Probably released him so late so he wouldn't sign with the Colts

At this point, I don't bring Garard in. Henne finally has some confidence, and the team seems to have confidence in him. Bringing in Garrard would really mess up team chemistry and could cost us games, even with improved QB play.

To replace him no. I think Henne gets his chance to prove he can play at a high level every week. But I would like a better backup plan if Henne fails then Moore.

If he goes to the Bengals that could free up Palmer. Hmmm...

I don't know if I agree with that. He had a few pretty good years not too long ago and would be good insurance in case Henne doesn't do it this year. So I would take him as a back up. But I do agree that the Henne-hating lemmings should be out pretty soon talking nonsense.

I would rather have Garrard as a backup than Moore. Nobody said he should come and replace Henne. Henne is getting his chance. What if he fails or gets hurt?? Would you rather have Garrard or Moore come in? Garrard has put up solid numbers and is underrated and a veteran with playoff experience. He has never thrown more INTs than TD in a season, and had a 90 passer rating last year. Jaguars were not 8-8 because of Garrard. (Just like the Dolphins weren't 8-8 and 7-9 in the late 80s because of Marino...it was a bad defense.)

Garrard is the best possible insurance policy. They should sign him and when Henne is starting he can learn the offense. If Henne plays great then fine, trade Garrard or keep him in case of injury.

I'm sure he would prefer to sign with whomever would let him start right out of the gate.

Gerard does not want to play backup so you have to ask is he worth the money and the turmoil in the locker room to replace or supplant Henne. Sporano and Irelands butts are on the line and they are NOT going to take that type of gamble with Gerard at this time IMO. They can hope it might loosen something up in Cince for Palmer who they might be interested in. Of course if Columbo gets Henne hurt next Monday they may wish that they had picked up Gerard on the OTHER SIDE OF THE ACORN!

my friend is a Jacksonville fan and i have seen alot of their games since i am in their market and Garrard is bad.. he cannot throw the deep ball at all it is always way overthrown to the safety. where he does shine though is passing to the TE. most Jacksonville fans were praying for him to leave and i do not want him anywhere near the fins
