According to the Dolphins' website, rookie CBs Vontae Davis and Sean Smith "equally impressed" team insiders during spring practices.

The plan was seemingly to start Davis at right corner when he was picked 25th overall, but the Fins won't stick to it if Smith outplays him in training camp. Eric Green appears to have fallen behind the two rookies at this point.

This is Awesome News, I think Jason Allen and Nathan Jones have real good chances of sticking with how bad Eric Green has performed.

I'm not ready to throw Green to the lions just yet. It took Goodman how many years in the league before he produced half a quality season? I think that both Davis and Smith are the real deal. In 2010, I see them both starting, moving W. Allen to the slot - which in today's NFL is a semi-starting position. I've been surprised so far by Smith's quickness - thought he might struggle in that area to start. Before OTA's, I'd have bet money that Davis would be the starting CB. Now, I think it's a toss-up.

I am very happy with how this front office addressed the secondary. At cornerback we lost Andre Goodman, and to replace him, we get three new players. Not just one player to replace him, but we add Green, Davis and Smith all to compete for that opening. That is a smart front office.

Same can kind of be said about the safety position. We locked up Bell, but lost Hill. To replace Hill, we sign a guy who has proven to be better in Wilson and also added Clemons in the draft.

I think our secondary will be improved but my question is how good will our defensive line be ? with jason back i see us being better but what about our depth at dt ?

We've done a great job shoring up the secondary so far. I've been more than impressed with the rookies' progress to date. *On a side note, what do I have to do to get a sig designed?*

I think right now, they're equal, but I think that once TC starts, Vontae will stand out a little more because of just how physical is, and how he's had to hold himself back from knocking out our receivers.

I've always thought Smith could start over Davis. Even if he doesnt beat out Davis, he will get plenty of playing time in some of the matchups we have.

I think Davis at the end will show to be the better player. The kid can be 40ft away from the attended catcher then show up out of nowhere to throw away the ball or intercept it. Yes he smaller then Smith but Davis aggressiveness will do better for us. Who ever it is they are going to need to step it up a level then some.
