Davonte Wallace placed on IR

Roster spot free? Veteran Center, please…end the insanity.
 
Imagine if it just said "Wallace" (Dolphins) placed on IR?! Major panic would've insued..
 
That's it we are screwed! Season is over! Bring on the draft!

they will solve it with practice and if the average fan would finally recognize that, that its only 5 ****ING practices in and this disgusting talk about it would finally stop, the world would be better off

Sorry, I do not buy your narrative. They are attempting to fill this vital position within a supposed uptempo offense with a kid that has never played Center before at the NFL level. He has blown snaps all week to a point where his position coach has wondered aloud whether he can do the job or not. Plus, you want to say its "only five effing practices", it is more than that because the NFL has limited contact in such away it is hard for lines to practice together to prepare them as cohesive unit for Sunday's.

The team was thrown a nasty curveball when Pouncey went down. They have to look to rectify it somehow. You want to stay in house and go with the vet Garner...I am fine with that, I like the guy a ton. I just question if he can 7 to 8 games and stay in one piece.

In house options like Smith, Sam Brenner or Kyle Larsen are simply not probable in my mind and will lead to awful play up front.

I'll take Larson or Brenner long before I would Shelley. Shelley is weeks away from becoming a decent snapping center, and when he arrives at that point he will still be one of the worst pass blocking interior linemen in the NFL. The worst thing that can happen for the fins is that Shelley begins snapping the ball well enough that they don't start looking at real options at the position.

So, what's your suggestion? It's not like there's a bunch of probowl centers out there waiting to be called.

nate garner has not proven to stay healthy, shelley smith has played with benton before, and if the coach wonders if he can do it or not out loud it´s just to get his ass motivated imo, they have to let him play it out
he has the athletic ability to do it, if he is still doing it in the first preseason game, maybe its time for a change, but i wouldn´t give up on him on the first week of practice just yet
