Is she wielding too much power within the organization? IMO, she is a great numbers person and is great at reading/wording contracts. However, having her be in on coaching hiring decisions...I just don't know. Starting to think she has too much say in the ears of people that matter when her one asset is just making numbers work.

Am I reading too much into it? It isn't like her having more influence has made any team she is with better. Right?

It's hard to judge her alone. I would love for the entire FO to be blown up. I'm sick of trying to pinpoint the problem on one person, when there are so many cooks in this kitchen.

She's the money girl.

If a new coach wants to get rid of these guys and add these guys she can say it can happen. It's not that big a deal.

she can't be involved with personnel. she's like the numbers person. but everyone has to go

Aponte has worked for 3 organizations, Miami, Cleveland and the Jets. Read into that however you want but none of those organizations are winning organizations and her track record as being one of the people with influence in coaching hires has been bad...regardless of how much influence she's had.

The fact that anyone even mentions her is a tribute

to just how incredibly HORRIBLE the local sports writers are.

She is like the Slender man, she is an invented controversy by idi0ts who get paid to write almost anything that gets attention...

Is it true shes been gone to concerning pro personnel and draft prospect evaluations? Like she has a say in things other than the cap when it comes to personnel?

Generally speaking, I think she's part of the solution.

She seems to manage the checkbook pretty well. Not sure how much of an influence she's had over the structure of player contracts? If she's the one inserting these team "opt-out" clauses then she's probably the reason this team isn't drowning in dead money.

I don't think she's very critical to our HC search or player evaluation but who knows? A little bare leg couldn't hurt right?

I'm guessing the new coach will want to be paid and want to discuss the current and future salary cap status of the roster. As anybody who has hired anybody knows, interviews and committees are designed to see how well personalities mesh. Long story short, yes, it makes perfect sense and I'm not sure I'd be reading about Dawn as much if her name was Don...

We were second in the league in dead money last year with close to 27 million. The saints led the league in dead money with 33 million. We are already on the hook for 4 million next season because of mainly Wheeler's 2.8 million.

She probably only does as ordered.

But we need to purge the entire front office

She seems to be manipulative and toxic. And nothing special from a cap management standpoint. I'd get rid of her, but apparently Ross is under her spell.

She manages the checkbook, but does she have input into the grocery list?
