In my opinion, the fact that the fins took 2 CB's and Pat White on day 1 speaks volume about their intent to resign JT. JT and Wake should be a significant upgrade as pass rushers....and with an improved secondary....the defense should be much better next year.....

I sure hope so. Be careful though, you'd think that some of the posters here just got out of an abusive relationship with JT.

Pats fans are saying similar things since BB didn't go for an olb on the 1st day.

On one of the local draft programs, one of the reporters (Albert Breer) mentioned a reason why Jason Taylor likely won't be going back to Miami. It made sense to me if its accurate.

While Taylor was having his DPOY season 2 years ago, Joey Porter was sh!tting the bed in his first year in Miami. It turned out that because Taylor was there, Porter had to play on the TE side, and he didn't like, and wasn't good at it, AND he let people know it.

This past season when Porter had all kinds of success, part of the reason was he played predominantly on the SE side. Breer was told it would be unlikely that the Phins would want to bring Taylor back and deal with having to make the volitile Porter go back to the TE side. He felt any overtures the Phins are making to Taylor are purely PR.

It'll be interesting to see how it works out. My guess is JT will sign in the next couple weeks, now that most of the mandatory workouts have wrapped up.

The fact is both Porter and Taylor are aging and Joey obviously lost a little at the end of last year.

So using a rotation of Porter and Taylor would be very effective IMO.

It would ensure having a fresh, strong, elite pass rusher on every defensive snap. It would probably also have the effect of prolonging both men's careers.

Maybe Joey Porter understood this when he was calling JT and asking why he wasn't showing up for work.

Joey is a very intelligent guy and I think he realizes that if he grows weary this year he will be cut for cap considerations at the end of it. If, however,
he stays strong and productive, he may get those big pay checks a couple more years.

Cam Wake is the young superstud who is in inhuman shape. He could potentially beat out Roth and be an every down guy on the other side.

If Taylor can be had for a reasonable price It would be very disappointing if they didn't bring him back.

Charlie Anderson and Quentin Moses should have already have been traded. Both of them are good enough to start on some teams and they are worthless to us because they aren't great ST's players.

Moses could either start opposite Ogunleye in Chicago or could backup Ogunleye who is aging and Anderson could compete for a starting job in Atlanta.

JT is not being signed by the dolphins for sure. Miami is doing the inquiry as a pure PR thing.

Year before last porter had a horrible year as he was played on the wing side over the TE. He was ineffective. Move him to the other side and he had a monster year .Problem is JT cannot play the weak side over the TE.

so now will you move porter over the TE where he bitched and moaned with a bad year ? .if not then JT will come in to give porter a blow and is some selected packages wasting a spot to sit on the bench.
