What makes you think Tebucky is going to be a star?

First, I think Tebucky Jones has been a great player stuck in a bad system.

Second, the strong safety postion is extremely important in Saban's 4-3 defense scheme. They provide a lot of support (containment responsibilty) against runs to the outside. Some even call this the extra linebacker because of the way the safety attacks the line of scrimmage. The most of the blitzes from the defensive backfield come from the strong safety spot, usually off the edge.

In the days ahead, I'll post some things to look for in Saban's scheme as he builds this unit into the best in the NFL.

So far, it's really only possible to analyze his personel moves and even though I've watched his coaching career for over 20 years, I'm surprised at what he has been able to accomplish in just a few months in Miami. He's gotten every player that he went after. Tebucky Jones and Kevin Carter were flat out steals. Huge impact players for a bargin. Schulters was a great pick-up too.
