First off let me say this.... I am Ryan Tannehills biggest fan nothing in this post has anything to do with him.

Moore is overpaid. .. devlin is crap and we now find ourselves in day 3 and there are some interesting QBs on the board

You have the likes of Murray who need work but have upside down the road and could be an interesting addition to the roster.

You also have a player I like a lot in McCarron who may not ever be a star but if your qb goes down you could probably rely on him to be pretty solid.

So anyways any interest in a backup qb tomorrow?

Personally, If he fell to the 5th I'd take aj mccarron

Murray!

Say no to Logan Thomas

Yes would be a consideration for me for sure, although not sure either of those two make it to us in the 5th. (Probably not IMO). They will probably go the route Jackson brought up in his article. ( very Late or UDFA)

murray, but all the bama butt huggers want McCarron. murray has more upside imo.

Murray, Brett Smith or maybe even Logan Thomas. Thomas only mechanics problem is footwork, Imo. That can be cleaned up. But i prefer the other two.

I think it's appropriate for all of us to be fans of Ryan Tannehill and root for his success. But it'd be foolish to not have another guy on this roster that you can have confidence to bring along and become a reliable/cost effective backup that could A. One day become trade bait or B. Potentially be in the running for the position if Tannehill struggles or gets injured.

Moore is pricey and Devlin is certainly unreliable at this point.

Aaron Murray would be an ideal pickup

day 3...4th round get me anyone that can get Trusnik off this team

i think depth in the dbs is more important then a back-up qb

When you don't put enough importance on the backup QB you get the Dolphins current situation. Overpriced Moore and UDFA Pat Devlin who just isn't good enough.

You have to seriously address the backup QB position with the passing game meaning so much in the NFL today. Much easier to find special team/depth LBs in rounds 6/7 or as UDFA's. If Miami wants to replace Matt Moore and those 4 million dollars a year, they need to go after a QB early on day 3 (by their picks in round 5 at the latest).

tom savage is another interesting one if you want to groom him behind moore

I watched Wyoming's Brett Smith play here versus Air Force. He is a good running QB....lots of mobility, good arm....I would take him in the 7th round if we are going to move Matt Moore. He had a good WR in Robert Herron for the Pokes.

They spent some time with Murray and I'm hoping that's their guy.

Like Dawg said I support Ryan but I don't see Delvin progressing and Matt and him are free agents next year anyways.

I agree with fishbanger. Take someone else in the 4th and take QB in the 5th, if a good one falls. We have two 5th round picks anyway, right? Moore is too expensive to keep around anymore. If they like Devlin, he can be second string and the 5th rounder can play Devlin's role or vice versa.
