Have u guys noticed that with gus n past qb other then possibly jay F that gus would only lock into 1 reciever n that's it. That's why I belive our te lacked touches n booker bc whoever the play was made for he only looked at him he doesn't look away and I hope DC is capable of that bc he's scrambling ability should allow him to check around n give everyone touches and distribute n make it a deadlier offense n core. How do u guys feel about it? Agree?

I agree. Daunte will get it to the WR or take off if he can. The problem with our srub qb's was forcing passes and I beleive intentionally trying to piss us off for bashing them every week. We have had backups and third stringers I can't wait to see a true starter again.

to be honest, wehn i saw gus throw for the first time i was soo amazed on how diff of a QB he was and had a good arm b/c i only got to see 1 season of marino in my life and that i vaguely remmeber and the rest was all Feidler and i lked him but didn't know how weak of an arm he had till i saw Gus so DC will be my first FRANCHISE QB i see on miami and can finally see the diff btw a TOP 3-5 on MY team compared to the backups we have had before

Gus was an improvement. There were several times last year when people complained about him overthrowing the WR as compared to Noodle arm Feidler whose underthrow would result more often than not in an INT.

Daunte gives the phins a franchise QB something that Miami hasn't had since Dan retired.

The real reason Miami will succeed this year and for many to come is Saban. Its so nice to have a coach with leadership skills, a knack for personnel, and the ability to tweak and adapt the game plan as needs be.

Exactly!

idk about vision because one thing daunte lacks is reading defenses but overall his skills are way better then any qb we've had since marino.

Daunte "lock on to Moss" Culpepper? Hmmm.

ooo please im sick of that bs excuse. right let DC complete a season with a team before u judge him regarding moss. why not adda new system and loss of his off cordinator and no running game or off line into the mix. please add soem real facts not bs theories.

You preach about facts and all you posts are excuses.

It is a fact Moss made Pepper look better than he really is.

How's this for a fact, the Vikings improved when Brad Johnson took over for Culpepper. Without Moss Culpepper threw 5 td's and 11 int's.

He locked on to Moss...deal with it.

2004 - Completions 379. Moss receptions 49. Yup, locked on to Moss.

And before anybody talks about last year with Brad Johnson and the Vikings, I suggest they go look up the difference between a correlation and a cause (college level experimental technique course book is a good start).

Am I saying that Brad Johnson wasn't the cause? No. We shall see this year though. Let's see what BJ does with a full season.

Yeah, right. Are you thinking of the silly "Randy Ratio" thing (40% of the passes should go to Moss) that Meathead Tice implemented? Daunte struggled quite a bit during that timeframe - but he was asked by his head coach to "lock on to Moss".

When Daunte was allowed to throw to the open man, his numbers picked way up.

Or do you have some other references that he locked onto Moss outside of that timeframe?

Did Moss have another stella yr last season with Collins throwing to him? no he didnt. You might as well say Manning "locked" onto Harrison a couple of seasons ago or lets take it further back and say Montana "locked" onto Rice. You see if a team has a future HOFer at WR and nothing much else regarding support then what do you expect?
All if, whys and what if's.

Look, read the culpepper manifsto before talking about things you don't know about. I kinda was in agreement with you and thought Moss was the one who made Pep, until you look at the facts. DCs best year was when Moss was hurt, and the amount of throws deep are the best ever by any QB ever and only a small % were to Moss. You guys keep talking about Moss this and Moss that, but he didn't help Collins very much last year. Moss wasn't even DCs leading reciever most of the time they were together, it was Wiggins the TE. Also you talk of Moss like he is a god, but in fact every great QB that put up big numbers had at least one great receiver to go with him. Montana had Rice, Young had rice, Manning has Harrison and on and on. Does that mean Rice made Montana?? Of course not.
I understand as a jills fan you have no future for your team and will probably start wandering over to the falls and debating whether or not it is better to go ahead and jump or watch one more demoralizing defeat. But be that as it may you can always cheer yourself up by understanding you wouldn't have had a chance even if you were a better team playing in the same division as the Pats during there SB runs and now with the Fins in our SB runS. But don't come to our board talking about something before you get the facts. We all know from the team you represent you are a loser, but you don't have to be a SORE loser.
