Sure is decent coordinators available for our D

Ted Cottrell and dom capers are nice candidates if they dont find hC jobs elsewhere we all figured Rochard Smith was the care taker until we found a novelty guy

Well I hope the reason Cottrell was let go was because of lack of talent in Minn, because that D was crap. I could see Capers, but I think we have a slim to non chance of landing him.

Just curious, why do you think we have no chance? I can't believe he'll get another shot at head coach this year. I also can't imagine a better DC job than Miami right now.

Right. He was also under contract last year and supposedly isn't as of the end of this year.
You're right. I think that at this point, if Nick is making a change in the DC position, Capers and Pees are at the top of his list. Getting one of them is a different story, but with everything being quiet right now, he might just be waiting for the Patriots season to end..

Well looks like the Caper rumor turned out to be decent since it's on the FH frontpage... so much for the guy saying we have no chance at him

I love the Dolphins but in terms of defense, I don't think anyone would want to come to Miami and be a defensive coordinator for the simple reason that we all know no matter who is the DC, Saban will be the one who ultimately runs the defense. So basically, you will be accepting a job to just be a yes sir kind of guy. Kind of like if you were to accept the OC job in Indianapolis, same deal- Peyton would run the show and you would just be a yes sir.

I agree Miami would be a great place to go and Capers would be a great addition, however Capers IMO will take a year off before he is a DC again. He (Capers) was a HC and I'm sure that he still wants to be a HC again. Besides I don't want him to come in for just one season then leave next year for a HC job, I would like to see the fins actually do something and go somewhere before the coaching staff is picked apart. The Pats until last year had a nice run before the coaches left and the Eagales did the same. I just want the fins to be a powerhouse before we start losing coaches. I would like to see promotion from within so the team can keep some momentum moving forward from season to season instead of taking steps backwards from losing coaches. This was a bit winded, but this is how I feel about Capers.
