Dead Serious: What options do we have next year (At QB)?

I find it disturbing people think these guys are a better option than Tua.
I don’t think they’re a better option than Tua, but, if Tua is going to be concussed with a regular tackle, he will not be available and availability is needed in this league.

Tua won’t be back next year. McDaniel will be coaching for his job next year so he’ll bring in a guy he’s comfortable with in Jimmy G.
I think it's entirely possible they bring in Jimmy G, but it will be as Tua's backup and a very smart move if they do it.

For the sake of discussion, let's say Tua retires.

Miami doesn’t have a 1st round pick, so I think they would look for a bridge quarterback. Jimmy Garappalo immediately comes to mind. Mitch Trubisky maybe.

I could see SF taking trade offers for Trey Lance. I have no idea if he's good or not, but McDaniel should be able to answer that.

I don't like the hypocrisy for saying Tua can't stay healthy and then people want Garopolo who has never played a full season in his career.

I'm not really a fan of Garoppolo. But if Miami was forced to make a decision, short-term, I think he could be in play.

Tua is a choker! All of the great QBs; franchise QBs win in the 4th quarter. If Brady was in the same situation, we win hands down. I watched Brady last night down by 10 in in the 4th with under 10 mins to go. Brady looked like **** all game but he is on another level in the 4th quarter. Same can be said about any of the greats. No team wanted to see Marino, Montana or any of the greats with 2 mins left and only up by 6. Tua threw 3 picks in the 4th and all were on him. All were horrible throws went there were other WRs wide open.
Not all were on him.

If I was GM this is what I would do with Tua.

He is my QB in 24 (unless I really move on from another HC so fast).

I also pick his 5th year option up, gives me a full 2 more years of evaluation before committing 250-290M guaranteed.
You know what good GM do is to admit when they admit to missing on a pick. The common mistake made is not cutting cord. The Cards drafted Rosen and by 3rd season he was gone. Regardless if Tua comes back next season he is not the Franchise QB, what more is there to see?
