After watching a replay of the Pats vs Bills game, I was thinking about what Coyle will design to limit Tyrod Taylor's ability to extend plays and find receivers downfield as well as his ability to run for big yards. I see three options:1. Make Taylor more predictable by limiting where he can scramble. For example, the outside rushers are instructed to control their rush and prioritize containment in the pocket. That way Taylor is forced up the middle, into a more difficult escape.
2. Assign a permanent spy on Taylor. One of the linebackers shadows Taylor while the front four maintains containment.
3. Send 5 or 6 rushers on most downs to force Taylor to throw quickly. We haven't seen Taylor patiently pick defenses apart from the pocket yet. I think making him dink and dunk will eventually force some loose throws.
