Either you don't understand the meaning of the word "literally" or I missed a very interesting play.

:rofl3::rofl3::rofl3: That was totally perfect with your avatar. I could totally see him saying that.

He looked a lot better then, had a lot more time to make reads and throw, but he did hang onto the ball a long time. Maybe he got spoiled by having the O-line he had, and can't make the adjustment!;)

Doh! Alright man you got me!! I totally misused the word "literally" in that statement! I "literally" typed that post and ran to the gym from work so I guess I wasn't thinking straight (Keep you mind out of the gutter!:D ) at the time.

But I am glad you guys got a good laugh out of that.... This board has been so gloomy lately with all the negativity! I just want the damn season to start!

And "Yes" I did mean to say 'Deer' thanks for calling me on that too.....

well i want to be honest here and say that every time i look in my mirror i look lost as deer in the headlight. I know wanny always looked lost like a deer in the headlight on the sidelines

Yes, I was thinking I missed the sodomy game.

Yes.... My apologies for yet another Feeley thread but this is actually directed more towards the fans who saw Feeley play in Philly in the 2002-3 season. The Eagles had crap for receivers (Thrash, Pinkston) but they had a very good offensive line. Now nobody can really say that he did a horrible job for the Eagles going 4-1 and maintaining their no. 1 seed in the playoffs. Alright enough rambling.. Here's my question:
  • Did any Eagles fans or 'Fin fans in Philly see Feeley have the 'Dear in Headlights' look every time he dropped back to pass the ball?
  • If not is it possible that he developed that fear after literally getting sodomized by opposing defenses last season with our horrible OL play?
  • Don't you think that any QB who got abused as much as he did last season would need a little time to trust his OL to effectively block for him before he completely loses that fear and hence that 'look'?
These questions and points are probably moot at this juncture but hey... I figured I'd raise them anyway.

And now....... I'm gonna run for cover 'cos I have this strange feeling I'm gonna get mauled for starting yet another Feeley thread!!!:D

Maybe, but the problem is he has them now. I am an AJ fan and think he has talent. But poise and composure under pressure are huge factors. I believed it was possible that it was teh horrid o-line last year and yes it could still be. However after 2 games there hasnt been any progress in that dept and that is why Gus is ahead IMO, he has teh poise and confidence under pressure, doesnt panic and give up on teh play and wing it.

I guess the article detailing AJ being frustrated and throwing teh ball for the sake of throwing basically sums it up for me. I like AJ but as a qb you cannot allow frustration to make you throw dumb forced passes. I hope AJ does show something teh next 2 games, but unless he shows great progress, Gus is teh starter.

I am also glad that teh qb situation seems to be resolved or at least the one ahead is getting most of teh reps. That is one thing I thoink hurt Jay and AJ last year going to the day before the tenn game before a starter was announced. This way Gus gets teh reps and can develop some cohesion in practice. If somehow he blows it and AJ passes him, he will get the reps.

I honestly NEVER heard of AJ Feeley until I heard Dave Pornstache saying we traded our #2 pick to the Philadelphia Eagles to get him,....and then I felt sick for a long time. I still am feeling this way. :( :barf:

I heard of him and watched in those 5 games and liked what I saw. I saw a kid that had zero experience, zero reps in practice forced into action in teh stretch rum and keep homefield advantage for Philli. No his STATS werent great, but in the circumstances he was in I didnt expect them to be. I thought with reps and experience he would be good. Maybe teh experience last had a neg effect, but as a qb you have to be able to overcome those obstacles and AJ has yet to turn teh switch on. I am not convinced it wont happen, I just figure he is rapidly running out of time.
