So after watching 3 weeks of preseason (I know, I know its just preseason)... Davis might be onto something with his remarks about he and Smith being the best CB tandem in the league
Revis is a beast no doubt but Manning picked on Cromartie all night (the 3 points doesnt show the damage that was done to Cromartie). Cromartie is an athletic freak but he gets beat a lot.
Nnamdi is a beast too but Samuels got beat really bad couple weeks ago. Plus hes real soft and cant play bump and run or tackle much
Sean Smith is soft when it comes to tackling but when it comes to covering short and intermediate throws, hes money. Its the speed guys that go deep on him that has hurt his stock but so far so good and Vontae has amazing ball hawking skills so I'll live with him giving up the short routes cause his deep ball skills as a defender are sweet (he had a nice one against TB against a really good receiver in Mike Williams that was called back)
Packers have a nice duo too but gotta think Woodson is gonna start breaking down.
I guess I would take Miamis tandem over anyone else for the reasons that A)they have not hit their ceiling, not even close. They will continue to get better. B)They balance each other really well and I think Smith is very underrated in the league and even to the hardcore fans on this site (as a cover corner, not as a open field tackler, he sucks at that but hey cornerbacks get paid the big bucks to defend the pass)
