Dolphins spokesman Harvey Green says the team plans to have its head-coaching situation "finalized by Friday or Saturday at the latest."

Chargers offensive coordinator Cam Cameron was in Miami on Thursday and is staying an extra night, although it's believed he's just taking his time before flying home. Other names in the mix are Ron Turner, Jim Mora, Dom Capers, Chan Gailey, and darkhorse candidate Mike Shula.

It's Cameron look how much time they spent with him. Yesterday and all day today, None of the others stayed nearly that long. They are just trying to keep the media quiet so they can inform thier other candidates they didn't get the job before it hits the press!

How is a decision suppose to be made in two days if Ron Turner is still being considered? It makes no sense. Either their lying about Turner or lying about the timetable.

Turner is Chicago's OC right? Ah, that doesn't fit the Friday or Saturday deadline seeing as they are still in the playoffs.

I don't understand why Cam stays the night the day before they announce a HC. If he stays over and then Chan comes down tomorrow that would be messed up. I think it's Cam. He's already interviewed so they can't have many new questions for him that couldn't be answered the second time around and they ran out of time?

Here is what I think. If Cam gets on a plane early tomorrow, then Gailey will be named HC. If he doesn't leave be early afternoon, then I think he will be introduced as HC later in the day.

"As of Thursday evening, no return flight was planned for Friday."

The first round were reported to be information gathering sessions. This round might be more X and Os, organizational management, etc. Part of that would be discussing the staff makeup and management structure. With Gailey, much of that framework is in place since they know him as well as his philosophies and he is familiar with several staff members (Mularkey and Capers from Pitt, Garrett and Houck from Dallas) so it might not take as long.

It seems as if they've made up their minds Cam would be announced tonight or tomorrow morning at the latest. Any further delay would give me the impression that they are giving Cam time to head west (home) and Gailey south to announce Chan....
