If Ross could bring in Eric DeCosta from the Ravens it would be one of the smartest moves the fins have made in a long time. He has been Newsome right hand man for a while now. When I go to bed tonight and say my prayers he will be in it. Go Phins!!!

That's my wish as well. 2 words come to mind though when I think of him as GM for the Phins: pipe dream.

there is no way the fins will be able to get decosta. He knows he is next in line for the baltimore GM when ozzie walks away, he is already one of the highest paid execs in the NFL and his wife loves baltimore.... he aint going nowhere.....I wish though, i live in baltimore and know how good he is but I do not see him leaving for Miami
Maybe he gets tired of waiting for Ozzie to leave.

* Accept the fact Joe is the HC next year
* Understand the Dawn Aponte has some major responsibility within the team
To me that eliminates most "worthy" outside candidates...they would not accept that.
Therefore, as the speculation goes...and I think is dead on....
Mike Tannebaum would accept that...where will he ever get a gig again.
Eric Mangini...favorite of Ross and is close to Aponte.
Brian Gaine....do not sleep on the fact that he and Joe have connection to Kirk Ferentz. There is a connection there that is not discussed enough. So Aponte gets some major title and headlines as woman busting through and Gaine and Joe pick the players.
I am 50/50 on Pioli. No way on Peterson. That ship has sailed.
Ross is missing out on Dan Marino being his czar btw...I could live with Gaine. I would be pumped and jacked with Mangini. I would destroy the team if Tannebaum is a solution.

If he's genuinely happy with where he is now, my guess is that he really doesn't care. He's also VERY well compensated. As in, if he took a GM job elsewhere he might actually be taking a pay cut, as I understand it.
You look at guys around the league jumping on promotions and then failing miserably, you think maybe DeCosta took the same look around and decided the grass might not be greener.
