Deep is the word that has been used to describe the 2014 NFL Draft Don't take my word for it.

Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert calls it, "The deepest draft I've ever seen."

Colbert, with more than 30 years at his craft, is credible enough. And he's not alone.

Jason Licht, the new Tampa Bay Buccaneers GM: "Best draft I've seen."

Dennis Hickey, the new Miami Dolphins GM: "This draft class…best in a while."

MIKE MAYOCK: From my perspective, this is the deepest and best draft class I've even in probably ten years. That's been reinforced by most of the general managers and scouts I've talked to throughout the league. I had one GM tell me the other day that having a top 20 pick this year is very similar to having a Top10 pick last year.So I think there's more depth. I think there are certain positions that are stacked this year and you can get a quality player through three or four rounds."

What this means for our Dolphins?
It means they can actually "ice the cake" by building a winning team with several players in this draft to complement the great job they already did in free agency. Hear me out, lets say Miami trade Dion Jordan for a 1st and then trade that first for a 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Most if not all of Miami's problem could be solved.

Any pieces we can move to acquire picks? With a deep draft, you want more; perhaps we even trade down?

I agreed until the Dion part

I'm glad it's a deep draft, but I don't advise trading Jordan for less than we paid for him last year. Especially after only one year.

it is a deep draft....which is all the more reason to find quality players who fit our criteria within our scheme. There is absolutely no excuse for Hickey not to find at least 3-4 contributing players in this draft for the 2014 season. Maybe as much as 5....

Which is why I would trade Tannehill for a 1st, Pouncey for 2nd or 3rd if we could get it, Hartline for a 3rd if we could get it, and I would consider Wake if we could get at least a 2nd. That one is tough though because end rushers is one of the few areas that this draft isnt full of.

This is a great draft for QBs. Not so much at the top, but there are 2-3 guys who I think can start in the NFL who are considered 2nd rounders and later.

The draft is also loaded with more good corn than the state of Iowa.

If we got an extra 1st I'd not trade it for a 2nd and 3rd. I'd move down some and get an extra pick but I'd stay in the first round.

Ozzy rules!!

I don't see a trade happening. Coyle is still here, and he would have giving his blessing with Jordan to begin with. Maybe in retrospect, you'd do last year's draft differently, but he's on the roster now and you have to make decisions based on that. And let's face it, Wake is getting older.
