guys notice that since the offense is on the field more the defense has time to rest and has been playing so much ebtter and making more plays due to not being on the field almost the entire game?

and the other good thing is that majority of our secondary will be back next year together adn thats a great thing b/c of the chemistry and familiarity with the scheme unlike this year where they were all new basically.

Remember guys, SABAN was known to take out all the players that would NOT be able to play for him. as we have seen, almost evreyoen is new to miami. this year we will have many more new players but the secondary wont be as different. Give it a year, we may be contendors, give it 2 more years, we will be a FORCE for a decade to follow. thats the difference.

The offense is playing better, but I think it has more to do with defensive players playing in the system more and the insertion of Bell into the starting lineup. Bell continues to just make plays and has been a huge difference.

I dont know its buying into the system.. or 'getting' the system.... Ive noticed that Saban keeps guys out that dont have a grasp of what they are supposed to do consistently... hence the J.Allen issue...
Guys on the tram have a good understanding of what is expected of them... i think that makes a huge difference.

They're improving because they are trying harder and doing the things that need to be done, correctly. It's really that simple there is no magical cure. There effort was not what it could have been the first half of the season. I think when they saw Daunte struggle, they let that influence what they had to do. It's a team sport, just becasue you struggle on one part of your team, doesn't maena you have to struggle with another part. All football is, is determination and who wants it more. There is no big difference in talent from team to team, it's just who wants it more. That's basically what it all boils down to.

This whole turn around is based on the same thing that happened last year... Continuity... They have had time to adjust to the new DC and each other... People do not want to hear that it takes time to adjust to changes... It takes time to understand what the new kid on the block is capable of and his tendencies on the field...

It takes time!!! The best thing for this team is to minimize the changes to the overall coaching staff and leadership of this team to be successful...

The 1 thing that is truly apperant though is the fact that even with change, NICK seems to find a way to get them back on track...

You want to continue next year with what we are doing now, DON"T CHANGE the key leadership of this team! That means, OC, DC, JT, ZT, BELL, DANIELS, CROWDER, TRAYLOR, POPE, ALLEN and a few others...

CONTINUITY is the KEY!!!

Goodman and Allen are both pretty good CB's. They both also have something you can't coach and that is speed. The CB play has been solid all year. The breakdowns have been with blown coverages, especially at the safety position. That has changed with the insertion of Bell.
The front 7 has also been playing more cohesively and that has improved the pass rush.

The real reason the defense is improving is because the players are farting on the field and choking the opponents...

seriously though, I think Saban's system is now working (I really think it enabled Jason to make those INTs this year) and the personnel are starting to gel.

It was funny seeing us play such good D because I had forgotten temporarily how bad our pass defense was last year.
