An interesting read when you think about how we had prepared for this game all through preseason. Does some of the fault lay with the defensive players? Of course, but in my opinion, the fault weighs heavily on the coaching staff and management. Anyway, here are a couple quotes, I found interesting when compared to last night’s defensive results. Link - Dolphins Postgame Quotes.

LB Kevin Burnett - (On if the lack of new film of the Patriots hurt the defense) - “They didn’t do anything that we didn’t see on tape. They executed, we didn’t. I think that is the case in point here. Execute your call and the team that does that to the best of their ability will win the game. The least amount of mistakes wins and we had too many mistakes, and it cost us. Good football teams take advantage of your mistakes. They didn’t do anything fantastic. When we made mistakes, they hit the guy, and that’s the difference from good to great. We can honestly say that if we play good and they play great, we lose. The margin of error in this league is that small.

S Reshad Jones - (On if they saw something they didn’t see on film) - “No, we played a great quarterback, he capitalized on our mistakes, and he put the ball where it’s supposed to be.”

LB Jason Taylor - (On if New England’s no huddle caught them off guard) - “No. We were prepared for it. We knew it. It was no mystery at all.”

CB Sean Smith - (On Tom Brady throwing for over 500 yards) - “Stats and all that doesn’t really matter, doesn’t really tell what happened on the field. We definitely need to go back and watch the film and see what went wrong.”

Kevin Burnett ???? Did he even play last night ?

NEVER heard his name

If they where prepared what where the Patriots?

Yeah, I thought KB was supposed to be our answer to their TEs. I'm not buying that they had a clue against the no huddle and it was just failure to execute.

So the players themselves said they saw this on film, and nothing was new that the Patriots did.

The players themselves admit they made mistakes and the pats didn't do anything special.

Yet you want to put the majority of blame on the coaching?

Guys getting cramps and Davis getting Torched by Welker. Welker torching Sapp

You want to blame coaching?

so if they were prepared then what?

Smith need to grow a set

Smith had no problems being involved on tackles yesterday. If you have issues with DB'S tackling look at Sapp Davis and Carol. With Davis he has an out. He didn't have a chance to tackle because he kept getting beat

So what they pretty much said..

"We knew what Brady and the Patriots had... but we were (collectively) too stupid to do anything about it..

You want to blame coaching?

yes because we couldnt disguise coverage. we made it to easy for brady to pick us apart. and we dont have the personal in the secondary to match up with new engalnds tight ends. im sure not too many teams do. but its not like we just found out the pats are in our division, we play them 2 times a year, and if we want to goto the playoffs we kinda gotta figure out a way to beat them. so yes much of the blame does fall on the coaching staff and front office. yes clearly the players didnt perform with what they were given. but were they given a gamplan and personal to succeed? no

they should have asked Caroll and sapp if they knew our game started at 7 and not 10 15, I could see how that could have posed a problem.
