I don't know if the rest of you saw it, but the DBs yesterday absolutely awful. They couldn't cover man for their lives, they consistantly were burned deep, they refused to turn to look at the ball when thrown, they left wide gaping holes in zones.

They didn't do anything right, I'm surprised Daniels didn't tip that ball back to the reciever at the end of the game.

If Kerry Collins wasn't a horrible quarterback then we would have been blown out. There were about 8 instances where our DB got burned horribly and Kerry Collins overthrew his reciever.

Something needs to be done next week, resign Schulters, recruit some highschool standouts, pull some fans out of the stand or anything. We won't win a game vs a team with a good quarterback.

We won yesterday because Kerry Collins sucks more then our DBs.

No it wasnt Collins, it was the pressure from our D-Line, Kerry is one of the most accurate deep ball passers in the game.

That said Daniels obviously isnt 100% or in game shape, once he gets back it will be better, Goodman doesnt get his head around for the ball yet somehow still breaks up passes, moving him to the nickleback position will make us better

Only person that scares me is Tillman.....Dont know what he is thinking 80% of the time

That is true to an extent, but that doesn't take away from the fact that our DBs suck. Regardless of the reason for the bad throws, our DBs didn't cover a damn thing.

Daniels gets a free pass for this game. But if he isn't alot better next game I'll be disapointed.

Goodman played awful. The reason he wasn't getting his head around is because he was getting burned consistantly.

I dont agree with Goodman getting burned a lot, it was mostly a gimpy Daniels trying to chase Drew Bennett, although im sure Goodman got beat a couple times as well.

All in all though when you think about it Goodman was never supposed to be covering #2 recievers, it was supposed to be Daniels and Allen. So give Goodman some credit for at least not getting beat for TD's every play untill Daniels came back

The sooner Daniels is 100% the sooner we will see a much better secondary

The way you write you would think we were giving up 5 td passes a game. Our defense, secondary included has played more than good enough to win every game we've played. It was our offense that gave Pittsburgh their points. The last two tds anyway. Your statements are completely unfounded.
Our secondary is sound. As good as any in our division anyway. Our teams real problems are glaringly obvious to any unbiased eye.

You evidently wern't watching the same game as me.

Yes our defense as a whole has been playing rather well. That is because our front 7 have been playing absouletely amazingly. There is no weak spot in those 7. They are absolutely suffocating.

As Alex pointed out, our pass rush has made it so it is harder to get a pass off. So this has been compensating for our horrible DB play and making it look acceptable.

In reality, our DBs are still having problems covering. Our pressure forced many errant throws that, if thrown more accurately, would have amounted in many more yards and points for the Titans.

Our DBs got burned over and over and over and over yesterday. The only thing saving their assess was the errant throws by Collins. If you would have watched more deepy you would have realized just how bad the DBs were covering.

Nick Saban after some losses - he did it after the Pittsburgh game this year - talks about plays left on the field and mistakes that the Dolphins made (blown coverages, miscommunication, etc.) that led to the loss. It wasn't so much that the other team beat them down; the Dolphins beat themselves.

The Titans can do the same thing after this Dolphins game. I hate to admit it, but if Kerry Collins hadn't overthrown his receivers, the Titans would have had several more big plays and won this game. There were several instances where Miami's secondary was beaten. You can talk about pressure up front, but the bottom line is, the secondary too often was caught in bad position but lucked out on overthrows.

Our blitzes are being picked up with ease. I've never seen Zach Thomas stuffed as many times as he has been this season and its only week 3. This leaves our secondary exposed. Wasn't Dom Capers suppose to be an upgrade? We look a heck of alot less menacing than last year. So many things are going sour so fast that I feel sick.

im not really worried about our cbs as much as our safetys. with allen, daniels, and goodman im happy right there for now. what is killing our secondary is our safety's. where our they even at? the only one i ever see is bell, and he is only in there half the time. if i didnt know the rules to football i would bet my life that we only play with nine guys on the field. they are nowhere to be found on run support or coverage. i really feel like we need to make some changes back there. maybe throw bell in there let him get comfortable and maybe by seasons end jason allen will be ready to get some experience.

maybe it's me but our defense seems to be thinking instead of reacting. i'm tired of having new coordinators every year. it takes half a season before they start playing well. i hope that is what is wrong...

We KNEW from camp, that the DBs would take a while to come together and understand their responsibilities ....

I don't think SABAN is surprised by the secondary's play ... but like Culpepper, if it doesn't improve in the next few games .... we'll be in TROUBLE after the break.

I think its our saftey play that is bad, Put Hill at nickle back and start Jason Allen (if he is close to ready) and yerawhatever bell

IMO those are probably our 2 best safteys, although Hill has done well IMO i still want to see what Allen can do.

Maybe somehow trade tillman with zgnoniawhatever and a pick and get a linemen

Yes we got so lucky that Collins sucked and overthrew about four wide open recievers...the DB was bad but looking a tad better. Very minimal
