I was at work today, and saw different threads saying sign another CB, and will they have time to learn our scheme to help us out. I thought about this, since Seau is going to be out last I heard a couple of games. We will have a younger, and faster linebacker in his place, can we drop a linebacker back to help in coverage, or do we go 3, 3, and 5 on certain downs to help assist Howard, and Madison? We also mix it up with blitz, and try to disguise the extra protection with CB's. I do think that with the problems we are having now that if we sign T-Buck, or Taylor we do this for a couple of games to allow who ever comes in time to learn our system, will be setting the team for success rather then failure. Just a different look at our concerns at CB.

Just wanted to see if we can tweak the defense to cover our weakness areas now, with perhaps an extra Cornerback, or dropping a faster linebacker back, say to play centerfield so to speak. This could buy us time so that a new cornerback, or an existing cornerback on the roster could get up to speed.

The fastest linebacker is no match in coverage for a slow safety. The fastest safety is no match for a slow corner. Unfortunately only a corner can do what they do. Our best bet is to try to disguise the scheme enough that it makes QBs hesitate, jam the wideouts at the line to delay their release and get a pass rush.

Do you think we should work with what we have on the roster, or should we sign another CB?

I think a veteran corner will be signed within 48 hours.

We have the cap room...and if "we dont use it, we lose it". (Im aware of the Eagles cap trick)

That would good. That way they can come in and try to pick up our system, and help us out as soon as possible. Hopefully it's someone who can be a good role model for Daniels, and the others.

T-Buck knows the system from his NE days.

He would be my first choice.

How much does he have left at 34?

If we can upgrade the roster that would certainly help. How much does T-Buck have left at 34? Maybe 15 or so games would work for us right now.

T-Buck brings a swagger along with him, that could be a good thing to help boost morale, and help them pull it together.
