After sitting through three years of Sparano's slow to react to anything coaching, Im relieved that we gave a well deserving coach an opportunity to be our head football coach. He didnt get the job because he seemed all shiny and new , he got it based on the results his offenses have produced not some unidentifiable factor that still couldnt make an offense rank higher than Henning or Daboll. Philben was not my choice from the beginning but I respect him as a canidate and he was definately the best of the rest after Zimmer was eliminated. I was behind Fisher although I did not think he was head and shoulders above everyone else, was a big Mularkey fan based on his overall resume and think he would have been a final canidate if he had not declined to interview and take the Jville job. I breathe a sigh of relief after being bombarded by all these inside sources saying McCoy had the job and people that had never spoke of him ever acting like he is revolutionizing the NFl(didnt henning and Lee already do that lol) I have a feeling we wont be hearing alot about McCoy next offseason because I dont see that offense being any better and the luck will not be replicated. So congrats Joe philben and I 100 percent at this time support you. Now by tommorrow you may lose a percentage but at least I have much respect for you as a hire, proof that hard work pays off. Still not convinced Ireland is the gm to make us a good team but hopefully philbin comes in and chooses a good staff and makes the changes he needs. Im kind of hoping we dont break bank for Flynn because I dont feel he is that awesome but philbin should know him better than any and if he signs off on it I will give him benefit of the doubt. Hope this doesnt cost me my Debbie Downer award.

Dlockz....happy.....mind blown.

When my team does smart things why not be happy. Now if they had hired McCoy maybe suicide watch lol. For the record at some point I think McCoy will be a good canidate but he hasnt proved enough in my book at this time. Philben was by far the better hire.

I agree Dlockz. I been saying, go with the candidate that has been the most successful. That was Philbin hands down.

GO PHINS~!

I need to bookmark this thread. Happy times!

IM ecstatic to see what Joe Philbin can do with this Miami Dolphins offense next season. Hopefully Matt Flynn will follow, Showtime.

To me it should not have been a hard decision but oh well love the decision. Be funny if Tampa hires Zimmer which I hope they do. Mike Sherman though is a much better canidate than most people realize. He was nothing special as a college coach but most people dont remember he had 5 winning seasons in a row in Green Bay before his 4-12 collapse resulting in 4 straight playoff appearances. He ran a damn good offense in Green Bay and would be a good hire. Guy had a 96-57 record, not many coaches that are unemployed have that kind of coaching record.

I love this pick up. Tons of overall coaching experience, great character and recent overwhelming success. Looking forward to free agency right now!

Interesting note to my mike sherman remarks is he gave philben his first NFL job with Green Bay, so a Sherman disciple lol
