It seems everytime we get a player everyone is pleased but alot of these people are NOT starting material. I mean the only reason Deke Cooper started is because the other safety got hurt in j ville. But people always say "oh he is the exact player that saban wants" no he is just filling our roster and he wont start but he WILL get his chance but they arent good and could possibly get cut. I have seen Deke play and he is not that good and I think the only free agent db that will start will proabably be Will Allen I have seen him play and I personally like him and hes got some wheels. But besides all of that what do you guys think a saban style player is. I believe it is one that does not have a HUGE ego but shows up every day and puts everything hes got into his tackel and plays text book football with heart unlike Arrington who is a free lancer so I turely believe Arrington does not fall under Saban style player and he deffinately does not fall under our budget after we are sighning cooper (which wont be much) and are now looking to get a solid #2 qb and with the nfl draft a few weeks away so the writing is pretty much on the wall and Arrington will not be in south Florida.

a Saban type player is a big physical team player basically. good big always beats good small

A Saban type of player is everyone we sign, it doesnt matter who it is, because everyone Saban wants is a Saban type of player. That is the dumbest way to describe a player.

agree

Saban could sign 100 players...i don't care. I'm sure he only signs "Saban players" or he wouldn't even look at them. I think you're right about some of these guys getting cut. He signs alot of guys to 1 year contracts. If they don't make the team, we lose nothing.

The thing you need to know about Saban is he is not looking for superstars, as much as system players, if you will fit well in his type of system, will be willing to learn, and give it 100% (Mentally and physically), you do not have to be the next LT.

I ve seen him play 2 and he is pretty good. Maybe we werent watching the same games. I do agree about arrington though. And i do think Deke has the potential to start
