Deion Sanders touts Dolphins’ cornerbacks

5th Best in the NFL!?!?!? I wouldn't go quite that far yet. Maybe after they get a little more experience under there belt they will be that good.
 
no way. Vontae got burned a bit, but he has the total package and will tighten that up. Smith is the limiting factor here. He's way too soft. But then again Deion isn't going to knock someone for that, considering he couldn't tackle any better then the chicks in the Lingerie Football League.
 
But he said, in Neon Deion fashion that the rest of the team sux. F*** that guy.
 
Dieon is a tool and have absolutley no repect for that clown.
 
To me, this "endorsement" is tainted and consequently troubling.

If the Neon D-bag proclaims a sunny day, I'm fersure packing my umbrella.
 
Yea I would have to say Sean and Vontae aren't quite top 5 yet but they could be down the road. Won't Will Allen be one of our starting CB's next year? If Will and Vontae are starting next year with Sean Smith as a solid backup then that will be a top 5 tandem in the NFL.
 
I do not expect Will Allen to start next season... how could you?

No one knows how he will recover from that major injury... especially being a little bit older. I expect Will Allen to be our #3/Nickle corner next season.

I also expect both our corners to play exponentially better. I would not be surprised if they are in the top10 by the end of next season.
 
I have no doubts that this tandemn will eventually be a top 5 CB tandemn in the league. But you can't say that after last year.

Maybe Deion realizes that for a team with a backup NT starting and below average LB's in the middle (I think Crowder can be good, but his knees are shot) and poor safety coverage . . . our 2 CB's did a hell of a job. He may be right.

After the Super Bowl last year, CB was our weakest position simply because Allen and Goodman were FA's, Nate Jones is a nickel at best and Jason Allen still was a mystery.

Now its arguably competing with DE for the strongest unit on the team. Gotta like that. Now if we can just do the same to our LB core.
 
With a better supporting cast (safeties, better pressure on the QB) these guys will shine. Let's hope Mike Nolan brings it!
 
THEY WILL be a top 5 tandem next season....but they weren't this season....that's pretty obvious...


I miss Surtain....
 
I think it's too early to make this claim, but considering the total incompetence of our safeties against the pass, they did OK.
