Can someone who knows these players better give the positives and the negatives of this move?

Delmas is a similar player to R. Jones. Heavy-hitting, run stopping safety. Somewhat of a liability in coverage, but not all that bad.

If Delmas is healthy, he has a higher ceiling impact wise than Chris Clemmons. Clemmons is a nice player and won't make many mistakes but he won't make many plays.

He's got more career INTs and passes defensed than Clemons. Clemons best two seasons were under Coyle so we'll see what Delmas does. It's a prove it deal. My only worry about him is that he was undisciplined in Detroit. Got a few boneheaded penalties but I think that was a reflection of Schwartz and some dirty football.
