Just out of curiosity....WR/KR Specialist Dennis Northcutt is in the situation of probably being released by he Browns. If this were to happen, could he be looked at the Dolphins yes or no?
He's got INCREDIBLE speed and has made his presence on many KR's and PR's.
And he may also add depth to a questionable 3rd and 4th receiving slots on the Dolphins roster.

Does this possibility exist?

i wanted him as our third receiver/kick returner before the off season started, and id still like to pursue him if he is cut, but i dont see it happening. Need to thave the money to sign him, he has to want to come here (right now wants to be in baltimore and they need a receiver) and he would have to get cut since we wouldnt pursue him in a trade unless it was as risk free as the boston deal.

I wanted him to be the 2nd receiver now, & have a rookie(1st round) step in when ready. Northcutt would be one of the best 3rd receivers in the NFL. I would love to have Northcutt here, & it would solve the position for years.

They won't release him. Baltimore offered a 4th and 7th round draft picks for him and cleveland said no. They wouldn't except those picks for him, but they would release him and get no compensation?? Doesn't make any sense.:nono: :nono:

Thats why you do a sign and trade, you get that out of the way first thing. Any body want to give up a 3rd for this guy. It follows that "win now" frame of mind. How old is he?

I think they would accept a 4th and and a 7th from us. They won't accept it from Baltimore cuz their in the same division, and they don't want to help them get better. I'd love Northcutt here. We wouldn't have to select a receiver at all in this draft and maybe not for a while.

I think Cleveland wants a 2nd rounder for him, which we don't have. Even if we did have one, I wouldn't trade it for Northcutt.

yeah......but that was like San Diego saying they wanted a 3rd rounder for Boston. I'm pretty sure Cleveland would accept less than a 2nd rounder....

They want a 2nd rounder from the Ravens. This is another Marshall Faulk situation. If a team not in the division or maybe even not the team that left Cleveland made the 4th/7th offer, I think it would probably get done. If I were the Broncos, I think I'd be going after him. He could be a #2 there. He wouldn't be happy as #3 here...

Would we get a better WR in say, the fourth round this year? One that would come in and be a solid #3 WR? Who could step up and play #2 easily in case of injury?

If he can be a KR, even better. Well worth a fourth and seventh to me.

However, what is good for us might not be good for Northcutt. He is salary cap friendly for the next three years (about 800K/yr I think) but would no doubt like a new contract.

He would be our #3 WR, but do doubt would like to go where he can be at least #2 or even the #1 WR.

I think he would come to Miami, just to be away from the Browns, but would prefer a better overall situation. I'd still try to work out a trade for him though.

hHes only 25,26, and one hell of a returner. But no way,he wants to be paid and I doubt wants to stay a number 3 reciever. Its not the picks the browns are complaning about its giving him to Baltimore, Liquid has it right.

If we can't get Northcutt, I'd love to draft Sammie Parker in the 3rd or 4th....he's a lot like Steve Smith and he has 4.3 speed.

I hope you mean like Smith on the field, not off.
