Denver Post: Manning to visit Denver, Arizona and Miami as of now

Can you imagine if we end up with Tebow? What an effing nightmare. . .isn't he destined for Jacksonville?

John Clayton tweeted about 10 mins ago that Denver is his first stop but Miami is still the favorite.

I think it is between Denver and Miami. Which bodes well for us b/c it is a bad weather city and Mannig does not want to play in the cold ass city of Denver.

Even though Manning and Wisenhunt are friends off the field (apparently they go golfing together in Scottsdale, AZ) I just think the fact he doesnt want to go to the NFC will make this not happen.

My 2 cents: He is just trying to see what his price is and driving it up with these visits. Basically I think it goes like this once he visits Miami.

Ross: How were your other 2 visits?

Manning: The went very well. Love both cities. I have a lot to think about. Its a close call for me.

Ross: What was the best offer you got?

Manning: (Tells him contract info)

Ross: Here is a better one.

Manning: Where do I sign?

Manning will meet Elway and Broncos in Alabama then fly with them to Denver.

IMO, Manning is usuing Denver to leverage Arizona and Maimi into offer him an even bigger deal.

The nice thing about Miami going last is that Ross can top any other offer, while knowing exactly what he is dealing with.

Philbin needs to be front and center in the meeting with 18. Philbin has a Dungy quality that18 will like. Ireland needs to be deemphasized.

Elway is smooth and will have cache with 18, but the Fox outdated offense will be a problem. Philbin's approach could be appealing to 18.

We will see but it is obvious this is going to happen fast. The coming days are very very important for miami if they really do hope to land the big fish...... I say by Monday we know a whole lot more.....

Peyton Manning - QB - Colts

Woody Paige of the Denver Post reiterated in a Friday morning column that free agent Peyton Manning is "not coming" to the Broncos, unless he's on "the visiting team."

Keep in mind that this column was published prior to Friday's scheduling of Manning's Broncos visit. It's also worth noting that Paige's name appears on the visit report along with Mike Klis. Paige gives several reasons for his theory that Manning won't be a Bronco, including the cold weather, John Fox's run-first offense, and the conflict of interest among Manning and Tim Tebow's representatives, CAA. The visit to Denver could easily be a leverage ploy by the agents involved. We should have an answer in the next few days.

My question is, if he was here on the day he was released, why are the Broncos and not the Dolphins the first team to meet with him?

So we have to rely on Ireland and Ross impressing him more than Elway?

Oy Vey....

Yes indeed. I think Philben & Sherman need to be in this meeting. Throw in Turner for good measure. I'm sure Peyton is not interested in being "schmoozed" by Ireland & Ross. Forget about the Champagne & Caviar treatment. Straight talk regarding how they will protect him with a beefed up OL and the overall offensive scheme and how they plan to get to the SB. Be specific!! NO bull****

My guess is that the Dolphins knew of Mannings intentions to fly to Denver, then to Arizona, and then to Miami. That is why Philbin said "in a week or so." I think it ends with us because he wants to sign here knowing the dolphins will top the other offers. But one thing is for sure, he will not be signed by the weekend.
