Denzel Perryman seeks revenge vs. Dolphins

Somehow I'm not all that worried about the prospect of playing a slow, undersized linebacker. I mean, that whole defense is yawn worthy outside of Corey Liuget and maybe Eric Weddle. That's who Jimmy "missed tackle" Wilson plays for now, to give you an idea. I'm shaking in my boots!

Tannehill to Landry and Cameron every time he's on the field. Next.

C'mon Denzel, you went to a good school at the U so you are bright enough to know that more than one thing can be true. I know what he's talking about. He was quoted in the Herald saying that he was told by the Dolphins linebacker coaches that they liked him and hoped they took him in the second. As I recall the quote, he said it in a way that he clearly recognized that he wasn't given any assurance.

That's what I mean that more than one thing can be true. The linebackers coaches may in fact really wanted the Dolphins to draft Denzel because the LB coaches like him and are frustrated by the need. It can also be true that they were overruled by Hickey and Tannenbaum.

It's obvious Denzel is disappointed and he's manufacturing a villain. It happens all the time. People create a boogey man to get themselves up.

had other needs DP... kinda like when bread/milk are needed at home, but beer/cigs are stacked near the register... choices sometimes...

Linebacker was just as important as any other need with the way the roster is.

Reading the article, Perryman doesn't make all that big of a deal about it, he just says that we were his hometown team so he's got the date circled. He also mentioned "one of the teams that passed me up" but didn't make it as major as it might sound. Honestly, who doesn't want to ramp it up just a little more to show the ones who let you get away that they made a mistake? I know I've done it in my professional and athletic life. It doesn't really mean that Perryman has a vendetta.

Good for him. We got cute trading down. I firmly believe that.

I guess he has to circle every Sunday? Don't forget training camp, the Chargers passed him up once as well

Yeah they traded up for Melvin Gordon... I think he understood going into the process that he wasn't going in the first round.

Would of been great to have him slotted as the starting MLB right now . . . but time will tell if this was a mistake or not.

It cracks me up when rookie hold grudges against teams for passing them up. They act like they have nothing to prove. Good for him if he ends up being a monster in the NFL. Until then though, keep your mouth shut.

Very glad we didn't blow a 2nd on Perryman. As TheWalrus notes, he's undersized and lacks athleticism. I know the draft was weak at LB, but I think he was a major reach for SD in the 2nd.
