Hello to all,
It's been awhile since I've been on here because of school in Great Lakes. Hope all is well. I saw the HOF ceremonies yesterday and am excited about tonight's game.

Unfornately, I will be deployed overseas in the next few weeks and will miss the entire season, especially the Chargers game here in San Diego. My question is:

What is the BEST way to see all the games? VCR Tapes? Internet download? (Internet is slow, if not impossible on the ship)

Thanks for any and all suggestions,
Big Daddy

Internet is usually pretty bad quality. The best bet would probably be VCR/DVD...

Hey man... Stay safe and thank you... :patriot::navy:

Be safe man. Try to get on here as often as possible, it's the next-best thing to watching the game.

Also, doesn't armed forces radio carry games? Better than nothing.

Nasty and NaboCane,
Thank you for response and your support.

Nasty, when you say VCR/DVD, do you mean DVR?

NaboCane, the Armed Forces Raqdio does carry the games, but I think it's the game of the week, not all games. I could be wrong.

If you are stationed aboard ship you might try one of those portable DVD players. That is, if you have someone back home that can record the games to DVD for you and send them to you. Also, of course you wouldnt be able to watch the game till the mail arrived. The great thing about them is that they have their own screen, so you don't have to find a TV to plug it into. They are about half the size of a laptop computer, so storing one in your locker shouldnt be a problem

A cheap portable DVD player will cost you around $120. An inexpesive DVD recorder will cost about the same. Just make sure you get the same format on both (DVD-R or DVD+R). If you have the funds, there are more expensive models that will give you better quality, but the basic models should work OK for you if you are strapped for funds.

One last thought....there shouldnt be any copyright issues as long as the recorder belongs to you and you arent showing the games to your shipmates for profit.

However you choose to view the games, best of luck.

And most importantly.......stay safe.

r u from pendelton? if u r a marine, semper fi and good luck man

Yep. Go on NFL.com, I think it's like $5 a month, you get all the games.

I'm sorry, I meant internet radio. :o

Sirius carries all the games too, but you have to buy all the equipment and it's $10 a month. But you get music and other programming too.
