[Anthony] Kircus, an Imlay City native and brother of Detroit Lions wide receiver David Kircus, was sentenced to 19 years in prison Feb. 25 by Judge Jefrrey Cates of Maricopa County Superior Court after pleading guilty to second-degree murder.

News is slow and I found this disturbing/interesting. If it's been posted before, I'm sorry.
Kinda creepy huh..
He(David) looked kinda tough making that catch and giving Henne credit for throwing.. Hopefully this kid plays tough tommorow. It's what this team needs.. Just keep it legal, Kircus!

Lets just hope Henne doesnt throw the ball to anyone else if Kirkus is open, cause I'd hate to wake up the next morning and hear,"In other news,Dolphins QB Chad Henne was murded today after pratice.Witnesses say they didnt see who it was,but was wearing some kind of whte and aqua jersey, with he nubmer 85 on it,and had blood on the jersey as well. And was screaming through the occurance *I was wide open!!!!*...stay tuned for more news,on this developing story"...

My friend is a Broncos fan and he told me that Kircus is great in practice but not on gameday (kinda like Hagan). I hope it's not true because Kircus looked halfway decent compared to our other receivers. My friend also told me that he had a few legal issues of his own; nothing to the extent of his brother, though. I hope Kircus can develop some consistency so he can help us out in our receiving corps since we need it pretty severely.

You kill someone and get a prison sentence that short?

That's what is depressing.....
maybe to make yourself feel better, you should write a letter...who knows...maybe they'll add and extra day to his sentence:hi5:

This story is from 2005. This isn't Davids crime. Being one who has a younger brother who can't seem to find his way, i can say that it is unfair to paint the whole family as malcontents because one bad 'seed'.

Im happy to have David trying to improve our team. It would be a shame to stain his accomplishments because of his brother. Regardless of whether you feel the sentence fits the crime, we all live in a society where the judicial system for right or wrong mandates it's crimes. I am not in a position to say what is fair.

David Kircus should be remembered for what he does as a football player. Unless of course he himself becomes a criminal. But he is not.

Dragging up 3 yr old stories is lame. Im sure there are MANY NFL players who have relatives who have committed crimes.

I could go on.. but I dont want to digress.

The only thing depressing is that you can murder someone and still just hang around and have a chance to live a normal life at some point while the family of your victim just has an empty spot in thier life.

I wasn't trying to do anything, partner. I was just bored and found it interesting. You're the lame one here. Who do you think you are, talking all that smack?
By the way, David has been arrested before.. for breaking a mans face at a party.

[mod]Please refrain from any personal attack![/mod]

edit.. by the looks of it, im happier than you are to have david on our team.. chill out man.. i wasn't attacking the dolphins.

c'mon dude, kircus is white, what do you think.

nah, just kidding. i want a "take no sht" type of player on my team. i hope kircus makes the team.

I have to agree with you. That was the maximum sentence allowed in Arizona? That just amazes me.

also, people shouldn't go about passing judgment on people. does anyone know the details of "why" he murdered a man? every incident is individual and different. you can't just bunch a "killer" all in the same bin.

people have different cases and then also, this is his brother, not him.

just means that the incident isn't as "cold blooded" as you may make it out to be...

Thats Second Degree Murder..., if you have a brave dog and you leave it attached to somewhere and he brakes his necklace or somehow he unleashes himself and bites me in the neck and kill me you go directly to jail for 19 years and some other people would be saying that is a shame that you only got 19 years for murder...

wow! you guys sure are wound up! i can see why they call this place the zoo.. lol

no one has passed any judgement on anyone.. sheesh. whoever blames David for his brothers actions is ignorant and should be ignored.

:rolleyes2:sounds like a negative, opinion to me. if not, it's completely uncalled for since no one was attacking David.
