man i just can't belive he is still out there this guy still has some gas in the tank and would bring leadership to any team i would love to maybe get him to a maybe 1 or two year deal imagine our lb corps then wow!!!!!:callme:

If Parcells wanted a linebacker that was too small, too slow, and too old....Zach Thomas would still be here....

Besides....he's a Cover 2 linebacker....putting Brooks in 3-4 defense is a complete disaster for him...and whatever team attempted to do it...

There was a reason that DB was let go by the Bucs. Go back and watch the Monday night Carolina game from last year if you still have any questions. It was a disaster for him (and Ronde, who I am shocked is still on the team). He is just not a guy you bring in as a backup. Now, if Nov, say New Orleans has suffered some injuries and they are looking for emergency help, he might be the guy. But he is "still out there" because teams saw what I saw...and aging LB who is a shell of what he once was.

There already is a log jam at LB. They need to keep the young guys so that there will be a solid LB corps for the next few years. Don't get me wrong, I love Brooks...and if there was a need for a 1-year filler...I'd really consider it...but there just ain't the need and he really doesn't fit the scheme.

Great player, but 36 yrs old and a little small for a 3-4 OLB, especially given Parcells' preference for size.

Brooks is not the same Brooks but he can still play at a fairly high level. Unfortunately he is wrong for the 3-4.

nah. he probably has some gas left but he is the definition of a cover 2 LB. besides, we've got enough LBers.

Not when we're trying to get younger. Jason Taylor was an exception to this rule however...

I think Brooks a Beast and but we have a good linebacking core already. Plus Brooks most likely will be a Giant, I heard they are interested.
